You need to buy the battery that your manual says to buy. When a bike is cold, it takes more power than usual to start. Hence why you couldn't start it on a 6v battery. It just isn't enough.

Check the manual. It'll say everything you need to know about the battery you need. Then use that to buy a battery. No manual? Ring up a Sinnis dealer, and they'll tell you.

As for the terminals being the wrong way round, please don't take this the wrong way, but batteries are symmetrical. You can, you know, turn them around.

i ended up making a paper box to replicate the battery seems it fits just about still concerned about them wires tho mite have to try move them because im not sure if the wires will reach properly just have to wait and see.

How you getting on with the bike mate?

after realizing the battery was a 12v i went and got a battery charger lmao when i took it to the garage they said it was a 6v, but anyway charged the battery and runs fine the idle is a bit shit untill it warms up and the amp rating on the battery is a bit low only 4amp so it takes a few sec to start, but besides that its great fun to ride :P

I can barely make out what you mean, but from what I gather, the original battery was 12v? So all you needed to do was charge the battery?

And you may find the rough idle might be to do with an automatic choke. My YBR always idled a bit rough when it was cold, until the engine warmed up a bit :)

Haha what it was when i got the bike it was in storage for like 5 months and the battery was dead it did have a differant battery so wasnt the standard. I took it to my local garage to get it charged up but they said they couldnt because it was a 6v. Nearly a week later i noticed the chewed up label had 12v on it you could bearly make it out but i was like *face palm* so went and got a charger for it lol. Battery is 4 amp wich makes it harder to start the bike so will still get a new battery at some point
