Yes I rocking the Hero4 Silver on the long haul leg of my trip this year. It has a really great extended battery pack and does not clean the wildfire smoke from the sky like the newer GoPros tend to do.

They are still great cameras!

The Hero4 Silver works great and long road trips. I have an extended battery pack for it. I use it for more of a CYA or B-roll footage.

Though there is one video I did where I recorded on the lowest res settings in purpose though.
