Hello to all the fine folks of this esteemed forum
My name is Asaf Sommer, 32, from Israel, and I recently created Motolixious.
I've been writing about motorcycles as a senior road tester for the past 7 years in Fullgaz Magazine, Israel's largest moto magazine. Started as the mule for the cameraman and worked my way up the ladder - news, columns, bike reviews assistant rider and contributor and as time passed found myself leading the road segment, doing bike launches around the world, producing videos, coordinating the off-road comparison tests etc. Life was kinda peachy
Should probably add that it was never my main job, maybe except when I was a student. Mostly a hobby or passion that I was lucky enough to be doing that paid not that well but I couldn't care less.
Left the magazine in January and soon figured that I just can't get away from it and creating moto content was too important for me. I started working on a blog - enter Motolixious.
At some point, I decided that working on a written blog in 2017 equals designing a new manned jet fighter plane. It's nice and might be relevant, but it's not the future. As much as I hated doing it, video is.
So I recalculated my route and put my efforts towards learning video - gear, filming, editing and so on.
motolixious the website will someday rise, but for now, it's YouTube.
As I'm based in Israel but want to appeal to international audience, I create content in both Hebrew and English, so double the fu.. hard work.
So, Motolixious is a VLOG and will feature motorcycles reviews, vlog posts, features, gear reviews, riding tips etc.
Remembered this place from when I searched something a few years back, so thought I should check around and maybe get some traction with like-minded gents and gals.
Channel now has some content in it, and working on other new stuff - some bike reviews, DGR ride and such and have bigger plans for the future.
Would love if you checked it out and I always appreciate feedback and tips.
Think I can't post links since I'm new, so you're gonna have to sweat it and look for it yourself
There's a Facebook page and an Instagram account as well, btw.
See ya around,
Asaf.
