Intro/outro Help

So, i'm still learning the ropes of making these things and frankly, I don't have the current skills. I want to make my own, but at the same time I want to have something up to par with my video quality.

How do you guys go about making these things? I can do graphic design just fine, but meshing that together with video is well.. beyond me for the time being.

Make it as short as possible.

My intro is always a 3-6 second interesting clip from that video to draw people in, followed by a 3 second flash of my logo and an audio clip of a rev bomb, and then straight into the main video.

Long intros are always crap so stick to around 3 seconds, it's also a lot easier to make shorter intros.

what they said. Keep it short, and simple. Something that wont bore viewers and make them click away.

mines around 5-6 seconds, and its my logo with the various parts of the logo flying onto the screen, with background audio of my machines revving.

Thanks for the advice guys, I have a friend designing my logo (Since I can do everything but draw.). Just a matter of time.

Don't over think it. Just keep it short and sweet. You can always change the intro later as you progress. I've changed mine at least three times and now I feel my focus should be more on content so I've just stuck with my current intro.
