Interesting comparison to different motovlog topics....

Def can see reviews get more traction, but interesting to see how each of the other videos do against each other. These are my last five videos, with the top one being the newest and only up for a couple of days, vs each weeks video prior....

Have you noticed a trend on recent videos? Which of your videos do better, and which do you enjoy making the most?

Although I enjoy reviewing bikes, it isn't what my channel is about.... I'll do the odd one that appeals though. I really enjoy making regular vlogs, just wish they would get as much interest lol :-D

My most clicked video is complete clickbait, 20 mins long and I'm only mentioning the topic on a side note. But it's in the video! ;) It wasn't really my intention, I just didn't know how to make a short and neat video about a topic and ended up rambling about all kinds of other stuff. You can't make rambly vlogs anymore without a true subscriber base. No one will watch through it.

But generally, I agree. Reviews are what people are looking for. And How-to videos. I could make a video on KTM 690 valve check every year. It will get clicked loads.

My last couple of reviews have a little over 100 views for them, but one is a summer riding shirt, so that won't pick up until next Spring.

My other 4 videos in the last 5? Doing OK for my channel, but they're all over the map, topic-wise.

I don't really pay that much attention to the stats, other than to look at them. If you're wondering about general YT stats, then I'd say revenue is down, views are down, but subscribers still subscribe, so who knows what wonderful things 2023 will bring?

Either way, I'm in it to win it [not that you can WIN at YT, but I like the rhyme]

Haha... one of my most viewed vids is a how to fit handguards onto a KTM 390 Duke, a job that the most hamfisted spannerer could do almost blindfolded, is weird what people watch!

My overall most-watched vid is one that took me 20 mins to noodle, 20 mins to film, an hour or so to edit... and was done more than 2 years ago. Still my #1 vid, over like 45k views LOL.

in my experience Motovlogs are the lowest viewed videos by a long way, my garage "how to vids were my biggest with one having 24K views, I think it is all to do with where you get you views - analytics tells me that 95% of my views were from people who were not subscribed.I think in all honesty the only people who watch motovlogs are other motovloggers. I took my channel down 3 months ago with 1500 subscribers and over 150k views and I don't think anyone even noticed!

I think you're right - most motovloggers watch other MVers do their thing - but there are normies that watch motovlogs too... they're rare. I have several subscribers who I know aren't motovloggers, but they enjoy my motovlogs [and some I've seen commenting on other MV channels]. So, they exist, but they're like sasquatch or a unicorn.

I compare it to a higher class biker bar (depending on channel). Mostly bikers and few "others" wander in from time to time.

I noticed mate, I just assumed you got bored of it all and pulled your channel.

Not so much bored of it - I have had a pretty dreadful 18 months and it has taken its toll on my 'well being' - and in turn has sapped any creativity and enthusiasm I had. If I can shake off the black dog I will revive my channel and stop feeling sorry for myself.
It is interesting, as for me riding and keeping the channel up was one of the ways to keep some mental stability.
But it does drain your creativity, so content is of "lesser" quality. As I do it for myself I kept doing it, even if it was less quality, because it was one of the few things I still got joy from doing.
It did came with a big editing fatigue, so deleted more video's then I edited, as filming them was the most fun part ;)

I'm the opposite actually, instead of creative fatigue I've found motovlogging has stimulated my creativity. I think that's why I like making a variety of video styles though, it keeps things interesting for myself from an editing point of view.
