iMovie help?

I can not export/share my edited clip in 1080p. I can't find the settings to change it as at the moment it will only allow me to share in 720 but my videos are recorded in 1080p.

When I click Share > File, and click the drop down box under the title size, 1080p, is un-selectable. I am currently using the latest version updated a few months back. (Purple star)

Any advice?

Just a suggestion, start from the basics. What does iPhoto (if that's where your videos are stored) or Finder say when you hit Command-i on your video files - they should tell you, among other things, what the resolution is. Check that it really is 1080p.

This has me stumped. A Google search shows up a couple of people having the same trouble, and the general consensus is that all your source movies must be 1080p. But I tried making a new video with something taken at 480p and I still had the option of creating a 1080p output movie. Weird.

I realised something though, If i start a new movie with no layout. start the movie with a 'title' and then try save it, it will give me the option of 1080, however as soon as i import a clip and add it to the time line.. it changes to 720 :S really confused aswell

Grasping at straws here. Is it possible your videos are 1080i, as in interlaced, rather than 1080p?

Are you IMPORTING at 1080? I found imovie really confusing and did my first 2 month of vlogging at 480 cos It's not easy to set or check and that's what I was importing at.

I'll have a look - I'm on imovie9 - very basic. When I import an event I tick the box beside "optimise video" and then select "full original size"

That option no longer exists. I dunno, iMovie's getting slightly irritating as I record in 1080 for a reason lol.

For what its worth, I import all my video into iPhoto, and iMovie picks them up from there. I don't import directly into iMovie.
