Nice bikes, seating position always looks a bit slumped to me though....

What do you think of the V Strom? Its one of my choices for my new bike and im not sure about them!

It is comfy to ride... feels very Light... it is Very tall though... how tall are you? Don't think my feet are flat on the floor with it and I'm 5'8" (So im not that tall really)
My brother rode it from Essex to Newcastle and said that it hurt for that journey... the Seat eventually flattens and you loose all cusioning (then again quite a few bikes have this issue so you can buy gel inserts and so on)
The engine is quite tame... the Vtwin lets you overtake with ease but obviously you won't have a huge top end (which is find for the type of bike)
It is deceptively fast though... with the higher seating position your eyes are further from the ground so you feel like you're going slower at the same speed.. also the quiet exhaust helps you to believe you're not going very fast.
I did notice quite a substantial amount of buffeting (sp?) from the screen though at helmet level... you can probably hear the different between this video and the ones on other bikes. The Screen is essentially a brick wall and air battles to get behind it.
Overall quite a nice bike... Me personally I would go for the 1000... as its a Vtwin and also because I'm used to a bit of speed
