If I was going to keep filming my races on the GoPro 3, would it work for me to record my audio onto something separate that I could keep in my camelback?

This way I could actually do vlogging but still focus on my racing as this is the year that counts.

Personally, I think you'd be best concentrating on racing, if this year means this much to you :P

I enjoy watching off road videos though. Maybe vlog on a training session, or something :)

Yes, just remember to do something (count or clap) at the beginning to align video with audio, but since you have a camera on the helmet and the GoPro 3 has a audio input I would suggest using it.

Don't not v-log your races!

You can narrate them after for the same effect, concentrate on winning.

Hey Johnny, I used to do my vlogs using a audio recorder (Tascam DR-05) however, that got spoilt on my road trip in the summer (rain)... I'll be publishing a new vid in the next 24 hours with how I've gone about a weather seal on my audio setup. I think even if you don't speak during your races, the audio quality would be far superior should you wish to capture a bit of spoken word, or just the sound of the bike screaming :) Video without audio is bland. I know I made quite a few bland vids in the past. :P

Just film the race and do a post commentary of it :] Or just film the race with a external mic and if something happens just say a few lines and then get back to the race 100%

I think the common opinion of not vlogging while racing is unanimously my favourite.

Ill stick to my famous (i wish) montage style.

thanks guys!

I've tried vlogging whilst offroading haha, it's harder than on road. Couldn't imagine it whilst racing :P

Once I've healed I should have an offroader so I might get some practice in too.

Johnny, I think you should have a mic in your helmet regardless of you vlogging a race or just shouting obscenities! The audio quality would be superior! :)

possibly, that tascam dr05 looks like a possibility.

would need help sorting out microphones and wind buffers etc

Check the gasket waterproof seal I use now for my GoPro... (It's on my new vlog)
