So remember kids.. warm up them tire before you get trigger-happy on that throttle

The last track day of last summer, there were a ton of wrecks because it was so cool (60's that morning, high only in the low 80s). Fine temps for street riding on street tires, but not track riding on track tires. Guys were getting impatient and pushing it too soon, rather than going a couple laps first. It was a shame, and lucky no one was seriously hurt (just one broken collarbone).

Hope you aren't too sore the next few days.

That's unfortunate mate, it's easy to do though, I almost came off my bike on cold tyres on a roundabout one day.

But you should get a few views on it anyway and that title made me laugh ;)

i was really not expecting that! bet you were anoyed at yourself for such a simple mistake, ive nearly done it before and i just felt stupid for forgetting.

Glad you were ok dude, how did the bike fair?

I've seen someone do just that at Cadwell Park, first track time of the day, as soon as he left the pit lane, straight off.

LJ, funny you should mention that. I have track tires on my bike and it was pretty chilly. They are fantastic when you build up heat, but until then they feel kind of waxy. I'm sure that had something to do with it :)

I know better, but shit happens. I can't get too mad at myself. I ride every day, so this isn't the first and certainly won't be the last.

Very little damage to the bike. I just need to drop in on the local ducati guy and see if he has a brake lever in stock for me.

This is one reason I ride a naked bike, not a whole lot to get hurt except me :)

Thanks for your concern guys ;p
