Don't think anything will come of this but this is proof just incase it does!

You'll be alright, it's based on distance/time and it's obvious you were nowhere near the speed limit.

I'm not sure that is always true :/ I got a speeding ticket for doing 34 in a 20 zone. I had the video and it was a pack of cyclists that set off the camera. It happened when I was going to college for the first time on my bike xD

I'd guess it's automated then, if there were human input it'd be pretty obvious! Besides, there were two lanes there, it ought to be able to distinguish.

You'd hope xD I know the ones on the motorways take two and depending on where you are on each one is how fast you are going. And if you go 175 the second one misses you :P

I remember watching a police programme. They take 2 stills and a person sits at a computer and measures the distance you travel in the 2 photos using the white lines on road as reference points, they will be able to see you have pulled over for the police on a blue light run, nothing should come of this.

That is generally how time/distance works...! :P

It was flashing the police car, your safe.

The fixed cameras work automatically measuring the distance travelled in half a second. Whilst the camera is fully automatic and can calculate the speed itself. Checks are made everyday to ensure the camera works and every photograph is checked again by an actual person.

It is extremely unlikely that you would be issued a ticket for speeding without speeding.

I hope your being sarcastic, you'd have to go at the speed of light to avoid being detected by the fixed cameras. if your not in the second picture it's pretty obvious your speeding :P

top gear and mythbusters both checked this one.... go fast enough and the system does not process correctly and doesn't trigger.

Yeh your right, but you'd still need to be going at a speed that it wouldn't even matter if the camera flashed, you would still get a small dose of police arriving at your door with handcuffs.

All they need to do is look back on CCTV where you came from or where you ended up to grab a plate.

My friend was flashed while having 177kph on the speedo display below the camera. He said he's not afraid because the image quality is useless because the image will be blurry at such high speeds. I think he's got the point but that's no excuse to go nuts like him.

The newest types of speed camera can easily identify you at speeds much higher than that. They also account for lane changing.

The best approach is to stick to the legal limit and leave the racing for the track.

Most speed cameras in the UK can get you up to 300+ mph.

I believe I read somewhere it was around 320mph.

Or leave your plates at home.

I remember we had some old or faulty speedometer with camera. When you had 50kph on your speedo, the camera speedo always shown over 150kph. And when you had real 150kph on your bike, the camera speedo was showing random numbers like 859 and the camera itself never shot. Some ricer guys were having contest who will have bigger number on the camera speedometer with their cars until cops came with their radar and fined them all for speeding and reckless driving :D

The camera was changed since then and it shows correct speed now and it even tooks photos!

What about flipper plates or those played that have mirror reflector backing to distort the image of your plate. I don't condone any of these at all... just saying :o

A lass's down the street from me had a flipper plate, distinguishable only by the fact it has a split across the centre. He had it taken off his bike whilst out on a ride. He was actually day having a brew at the time and they issued him with a note in case he got pulled riding home with no plate.

Insane
