I crashed

I'm pretty sure the word is out, but I had a lowside a few days ago. First of all, yes I'm 100% fine. Second of all, the bike is mostly fine, but not rideable.

Note to self: If it hasn't rained in weeks, there may be a build up of invisible sand in one of your favorite corners. Also, wear your gear. You'll be glad you did. Furthermore, be glad you didn't get it on camera. It will play over and over again in your head enough as it is.

It sucks. I'm fine. Sooo glad I didn't listen to all the people who told me I was crazy for wearing my leathers in this heat that day. By Day Three, all soreness is gone. No bruising, no scratches, nothing. Definitely need to go to the chiropractor tomorrow, though.

Bike is... well, we'll see. The front wheel is obvious. I don't care about replacing the tank, but insurance will. The deep scratch in the frame has me concerned that they'll total it. Also, it won't shift gears. The shift lever isn't broken, but it won't move. In the wise words of Scooby Doo, "Rut Ro..." Rolls fine with the clutch in. Probably a broken shift star, I'm hoping. Happened once on my KLX from a left side slide (on ice).

Forks don't seem bent and neither does frame. The engine guards worked very, very well (as well as the swingarm spools) in that department. Handlebars didn't bend, throttle didn't jam, mirrors didn't break, engine covers are immaculate, no fluids are leaking.

*fingers crossed*

I really like this bike a lot. I really don't want another one.

I'm glad your ok! I saw you had uploaded a new vid and between the title and thumbnail you had me worried!

How did the bike get bumped up on both sides? Lowside drop you off and then highside or something less dramatic?

Good luck with the bike!

Gees that's really a bummer.

So both bikes are...damaged. :( Really good thing you got those crash protectors on there. I'm hoping insurance doesn't total the bike! Glad you're alright.

Sorry to see that LJ, glad that you are fine which is most important and making a good recovery :)

As for the bike, they like to write them off for less!

This sucks!

Glad you're ok, could have been much worse without leathers like you said.

Hoping things go ok with the insurance.

Good job you had leathers on! Would have been painful :P you can have some of our rain if you want!! We've had like double the monthly average in 2 days!!!

Welcome to the Kawasaki club ;) Seems to be a right of passage with the er-6n/f, know very few who own one that haven't had an off. I put it down to those bike just being so much fun to ride.

Great your ok... and as you said to me the bike will get repaired but it will seem like ages waiting for it to be returned.

All the best!

Yeah, just really bummed. It was a freak accident. Now I'm down a camera AND a bike. And with all the $$$ in fixing the KLX, there was no room for error, financially speaking. Just frustrated with my luck lately.

Last week was a bad week at work (so bad that I came thisclose to putting in notice), a bad week in my personal life (cowardly Facebook breakups ftw!), my camera mount broke, I crashed my only working and shiniest motorcycle, etc. High stress on all fronts, basically. Not able to sleep well, no appetite, heart pounding in my chest most of the time.

Blarg. Sorry. This is why I keep to myself about these things. Who wants to hear it? lol

Here's to hoping my bike-- one of them, any of them-- is back up and running soon, that I'm able to track down a replacement camera mount from Drift, that drama and unfair double standards at work die down, that insurance doesn't screw me over, and that unicorns are real.

Bikes, leathers and helmets can be replaced… people can't. Glad you're ok and after a few days no worse for wear.

Well at least it didn't burst into flames!

Seriously though, I hope you get it sorted without too much trouble ;)

I'm glad you're not hurt. I'm sorry to hear about the crash and your luck. Don't worry things will turn around, just keep your head up.
