Coincidentally January is National Stalking Awareness Month...

I can only image how aqward that would be having someone stalking you. I don't know how much the police can do but I'd get them involved as soon as possible.

Sounds creepy. I'm not sure if carrying a gun is the best idea (with all the people that end up being shot by their own gun) but I think that is more a cultural thing from the USA.
It must have been weird having someone stalk you though. Some people just can't take a hint.
