Sorry, the whole time I was just thinking "I really wish I lived there..."

Let me go back and watch it again, this time I'll listen.

I've never really thought of the GoPro as being a safety risk, like all helmet mounted cameras in an accident it would just detach. Having said that, it is quite a big unit, so I suppose it could go flying off on a motorway/highway and do some damage of not mounted properly.

Who knows.

I too have my GoPro mounted on the chin bar. Most helmet impacts are on the lower side of the head, one has a natural reactive instinct to cover their face if they feel an immanent facial strike anyway.

I think the GoPro hardware would snap pretty quick upon impact. What helmet do you have your camera mounted on? No way I would mount it on top - who wants to look like a Teletubby?

QFT.

GoPro's mounts are incredibly brittle. I've had a number of them break just from repeated, normal, use. There's no way I'd be worried that something that weak would do any damage. I haven't broken any Drift mounts yet, but I don't think they're all that much better either. I think the whole thing would tear off before causing any real problems.

Haha well personally I prefer the look of footage captured from the top of the helmet, but I respect that everyone has their own opinion on that.

I can only think of two other vloggers who also film this way, extreme601 and AccidentalBroadcast.

It'll catch on eventually

Not a fan......

Cameras should be put as close to the eyes as possible.... So they poke them out when you crash... But at lease when you crash the footage will all be less distorted :)

I've mounted mine on the underside of my dirt visor. It's less "Teletubby" ish, and blends in. Still a great POV. I really want the goggles with the helmet cam build in to them, but they don't fit my youth helmet. I tried. I was going to buy a pair at an amazing deal through our distributor at work, as sort of a promo, but the goggles were too big for my youth helmet. I hate having such a small head. :(

I'm not either. Not only does it give a skewed view of whats going on around the bike, but it looks absolutely ridiculous. There's a LOT more than just those two who do it, btw.

Same here.. Mounted bottom right hand chin area... Would be better central but I need to retain access to the visor and flip up/ vent.. But at least you feel like you're riding a proper motorbike and not a mini Moto :D
