How Often Do You Get Hate?

I get negative comments and dislikes from the vid where I get hit my a van while riding down the highway. A lot of YouTube Motorcycle "Experts" and YouTube lawyers telling me I'm going to go to jail. People who think it's somehow my fault when I'm riding along in my lane and a minivan crosses 2 lanes without looking and hits me. People who think I was wrong because I was "racing" on the highway. I was going 10 over the speed limit and slowing down because there were cars braking in front of me. People who don't understand that I couldn't see the van until it was up on me, because the camera saw it coming a mile away.

Edit: Oh yeah. The YouTube tough guys who would have forced the van off the road, dragged the driver out and beat his ass. Assuming a guy on a bike could "force" a guy in a 3000lb vehicle to do anything, you get shot for road raging in Texas, so no.

Know what it all means? There are assholes on the internet. Old news. I did argue with a few of them in the beginning, but I don't even waste my time now.

I think I mentioned this somewhere or sometime ago, but one of my real life friend is my #1 disliker. He will dislike all my videos after viewing them. He theory is that there needs to be balance. Yin and Yang, stuff like that.

Whenever I see any video that hasn't gotten a dislike yet, I will screw him up for not watching the video (yet).

Crash videos always get the trolls.

Good fun.

I'm not saying I'm offended by haters, just interested to see if other people receive as much hate as I do.

Like a few of y'all said, it's just more views so it a win win either way. Words are just words. Sometimes I'll get in the right mood and challenge a hater in conversation if they seem intelligent. But overall I have a great subscriber following so they often take care of the asshats. I rarely have time other than to glance and move on at negative stuff these days anyway.

First off, your channel trailer is amazing. You are the type of content creator I am speaking about when I say "underrated motovlogger". You deserve waaaaaay more exposure.
Oh and thanks for the support! It's a work in progress ;)

Here's the thing - whenever you put your head above the parapet and and try to say something to the world, people will shit on you for it.

It used to really get to me (was a journalist and had plenty of stuff published with my name on it, and got a lot of "feedback") but the way I came to see it is this: You're the one making the effort to create something and share a point of view, they're just jeering from the sidelines. Whatever you do, you can't win everybody over, some people will always be critics and the internet being what it is, they'll insist on being dicks about it.

Aristotle had the best take on it: "To avoid criticism, say nothing, do nothing, be nothing."
