How much do you share?

Hey guys,

What are your thoughts on sharing personal info on your vlogs? Like what you do through the week, family, work, dreams/goals in life etc. And are there subjects you wont talk about? Like your address and stuff? I want my videos to be personalised and about my life and such but being a rather closed person I have never really be one to open up to people easily and feel that I probably haven't lead the most exciting life like some people. I'm hoping that by doing this I cam become a bit more outgoing... I'll just have to get stuck in and try I guess and see if anyone watches.

Nice video. I don't mind sharing pretty much anything. I don't think I would give out my address, though. If I needed to tell someone I would just do it in a PM. Most people don't think they lead a very exciting life. You don't have to have an exciting life to be exciting. Just work on being more outgoing. I'm in the same boat as you right now.

Since as Mvlogger my identity is almost safe behind my helmet, I share what I think, some snippets of my life, what I do for a living up to a certain point.
I think I can share almost everything but personal identifying information like where I live, what I, my home or my family looks like, plate number or where I work.
I motovlog mainly for an audience outside of my city/country, that's why I do it in English even if I and all people on my country natively speak another language. I think it's unsafe to do it for the people here.
I'm also pretty conservative of my privacy. I don't share that much even on facebook, my "friends" list is tightly controlled, I carefully check the privacy settings on the pics I upload.
I seem kinda paranoid.

Same rules as everywhere else online bro... DONT share info that you are not happy having the entire world knowing!

There's good people and bad people out there... So take that into account...

I won't show footage of me actually leaving my house... Always start a Vlog when I am out on the feeder road at least...

Won't talk about my finances in specific terms... But 'it was a healthy financial week at work' I am ok with.. Kinda thing..

I'm intending to leave my plate off any footage... Cos most do...

But can't help thinking there's plenty of other 'self incriminating' behaviour seen in a lot of vlogs... And a certain amount of legal protection in the footage being seized/used against you.... But also can be used I think in certain situations to 'make a case' against the 'author' .. It's a interesting area that may get more attention as time goes on.

Half the fun for me is my vlogger identity. I legitimately fo not want my real identity shared for work and personal reasons. For those reasons I dont share where I work, what I do or when I do it online. I dont share where I live (other than the town) and my face is never seen. I dont hide my plate as I dont see it as anything that offers protection from anything or anyone. I dont even use my name, lol.

That said details or pov's can be shared in a vlog with some thought, just think how much info can someone gain from a detail and are you happy with it. I have met a few dozen vloggers and been on holiday with several (riding trips), I have several good friends made through YT and vlogging (all who know my real name and details, lol). Be yourself but only as much as your comfortable with.

Today i shared my pets with the internet.
That doesn't reveal my identy, but it makes it more personal and it can tell allot about me.
(or any other person ofcourse).

Private things i try to keep private, but if some other vlogger films my face, i don't really care.
