So more subscribers than views. Interesting.

About half of my subs showed up when that one video went viral. I did get a small pickup in regular activity from it, but not much. For the most part, those subs are not very engaged with my other vids. I also do several different types of video on my channel. I get a lot more views from some of the self-help videos. Some of those have 1000+ views (anxiety/self-harm/bullying/depression etc., but I just don't want to do that stuff all the time. I also have some pipe smoking vids, where I talk about pipes and tobacco and they get a little bit better engagement than my motovlogs. My audience is kind of segmented.

You are actually better off slowly gaining subs that are really engaged with what you are doing on your channel vs. what I have going on. It looks like something that I have 1700 subs and almost 400,000 views, but my engagement sucks compared to someone who has say 300 subs and like 90% of them are watching, commenting, liking etc.

Lol I have 1 but it's all good! I don't have but a few videos up and only been at it a few weeks. I need to make better content. But I'm having fun anyway!

Not that uncommon. I get that, and I've had no noticeable peak in subs due to any video.

I looked at RJ's channel when a similar topic came up on here a while back. RJ has about 300k subs at the time, and most of his vids were getting 30k views in the medium term (several months).

Subs stop using YT sometimes, some only want crash vids (for example) so the first you can do nothing about, the latter, unless you crash again, your video won't get watched.

I'm going really slow lately. I feel like just hanging up my coat and say good bye lol. Especially with some people on Youtube being dicks and making troll messages about how I suck at this or that.

Broski if you love what you do then don't worry about the numbers. ignore them and have fun. I went from 0 to 84 in 2 months. engagement isn't amazing and view duration isn't that long but I don't care. Editing and shooting is one of the funnest things I've done. Ill continue to do what I've been doing even if I had no subs. Dicks and trolls tell me one thing, you are doing something right. Welcome the sign of the haters and keep pushing forward.

Been going for just short of a month now and on 6 but has been a steep learning curve, never edited a video before this ( didn't even know I had to compress a video before upload or anything)

I think I've only got about 8 subs... and half of them are my other youtube accounts lol
At least you are honest about your other YT accounts. LoL. Don't worry about it.

There is no "start" or "stop" to be a YT poster, just post if you have something you like to share which you yourself would like to watch. Do it for you own entertainment, not for the approval of others.

I think I mentioned this before, but sometimes if I'm feeling bored or nostalgic, I would re-watch some of my older videos, they ain't big time view grabbers, but I like them, brings back fun memories of the ride. Even some of my riding buddies will often re-watch those older videos, remember those good old times.

My point is, don't just see posting videos to make a living or side income or to be liked by others. I'm so glad I posted all my old stuff, I can view them anytime and recall those fun times.

If you think that is all rubbish, I don't mind either way. Just saying it's not end of the world if you didn't meet your YT channel goals.

I'm currently at a little over 2500 subs, but I've had my account for almost 10 years. I started motovlogging about a year and a half ago and went from like 1200 subs to my current amount. A lot of my subs aren't related to motovlogging though, I post my GTO drifting, jet skis, rebuilds, how-tos, lizards etc etc so I get quite a few different audiences.

Sitting at 9 right now. Lost one and gained one over my last video. Right now I'm not as focused on subs as I am just general views and retention. I see those as better metrics to evaluate my content than subs.
