How Loud Do You Make Your Videos?

What sound level or as I've seen on premiere its rated at db. what db do you set your video at? My clips come out at about -3 to 0 db but then i brought it down to -10 db is that to soft? What would be ideal for youtube?

depends on what you are doing in the video. On the freeway i have myself up at the 3db range. surface streets im usually at 0db. I watch through the video after i have it completed in the timeline and vary my audio range so it sounds consistent and even throughout. only issue i found is my buddy uses an external audio recorder which im still trying to figure out how to level out some of his up and down dbs he gets during normal riding conditions

Depends on digital or analog. You can't go higher than 0 with digital.

I usually master around -6.

I hate the channels that stick it at zero. I always have to turn the sound down, or more often just skip the video.

-6 is my target.

My videos are usually mastered at -3 to -6.
But they sometimes peak at 0, but that's mostly because of the wind noise and too much bass from my exhaust :')

I'm actually in the middle of an edit right now and I am at -12. But I was told that my setup is loud so when this is done I will post and you can let me know.

I prefer to master it at -9 or -10. Any lower and the final Youtube product will be too god damn soft because Youtube equalizes audio as well.

Sometimes when I record my vlogs I can hear the engine on the raw file, but once it goes to Youtube, you can only hear my voice, no engine sounds.

I compress the audio and have a special equalizer setting to make my voice stand out and control some of the peaks. I don't use a lot of compression, because it will sound too muddy, but I use a little. I keep the audio around -6. My earlier videos got complaints of being too soft, so I get it just below where it red lines during one of the noisier parts. YouTube equalizes, too, like someone else mentions so I start out a little loud. You can always turn speakers down, but they only go up so far.
