Has anyone else owned or tested this bike? I'm thinking about this or the ninja 250 as ill be on a restricted licence.
Any bike suggestions for me would be great.

go into the shop and ask for a test ride. I prefer the looks of the cbr250 and I guess they will ride quiet similar, but go with which feels right sit on both if you can, check the insurance costs for both and if you are short of cash mpg if you're going to be commuting etc.

For looks i'm thinking the cbr over the ninja, and i've found some dealers near me to go and have a sit on them ect,
cheers for the advice

Not just about looks, the Honda will be much more reliable.

But as a 250 the ninja would be better. More bhp, plus twin over single cylinder.

That alone should be the turning point.

I was never into getting a 250 as my 125 was just as quick & didn't look half bad. The Ninja doesn't look half bad, doesn't really look like a 250.

Because it's "just a 250," the single makes way more sense. You'll have much more usable power. And, yes, Honda will be much less maintenance.

12k+ miles on a Ninja 250
28k+ miles on a KLX 250/351

Personally I'd say a twin over a single on a 250 would be better just because it'll be smoother.

The CBR250R is much quicker than a 125, it has double the torque and 16hp more than a YBR125.

There isn't as much difference in the smoothness of the two engines as you might think, the CBR is probably the smoothest single cylinder bike I've ridden.

Both bikes are good though, there really isn't a massive amount of difference between them.

leaning more towards the honda for cost reasons really going to view a cbr250 tomorrow.
and thanks to gpzDave you reviews were really good and have pushed me more onto the honda.

if it's a really really really hard decision, buy a 600. Hehe.

I'm sure after riding the CBR125 you'll find the CBR250 the same bike just more power. not much would have changed with regards to postioning, ride height & parts.
