Rom: one-one-six unashamed
So, the English professor was bombarded with requests from my professors and their graders to hire me to help students write all their papers. Our writing center was fully staffed with people who are amazing at formatting papers, ones that can tell you where a comma, a colon, or a semi colon would go, mentors to help with tough theological issues but no one who could help make the papers actually easily readable and inviting. I don't know how many of you have studied theology but it isn't normally considered "easy to read", then that gets filtered through the minds of 18-24 year olds communicating to professors...that's a recipe for torture.
All of my papers have been "a break from the mundane" as one professor put it. So I am in charge of getting the students to understand the importance of imagery and engaging the senses in their writing. I know it doesn't fit well at a theological seminary but I am the guy who admires eminem for his ability to put his audience into the story he is telling, and I try to do that as well (completely different subject matter though). Other greats have been Kenny Rogers, Taylor swift and countless others like jk Rowling.
I think that is a key element in motovlogging too. Get your audience feeling like they are there too! So, my first "class" was filmed today motovlog style! On the bike, telling stories, explaining the sights, the sounds, the smells (especially the well done road kill at the light that took forever to change). I'm doing the editing tonight and didn't know if you guys would be interested in the final product to see if it might be of value to you as well. Let me know. If there is interest and it turns out like I hope, I'll make it available to y'all too!
