Hey guys,

My name is Karl Dutschke, and I reside in the northern suburbs of Adelaide. I am currently completing year 12. I am an avid gamer (in the winter), cyclist (in the summer), and also a musician (Drums, bass, and guitar). Currently I do not have a bike, but am looking to get one in the next six months (for now, all I have is sitting on the back of dad's Honda VT750C Shadow). I have been getting quite into some of the Australian motovloggers (and some international ones), and would really love to start once I get a bike of my own as I can get quite bored sometimes sitting on the back of dads bike, and I think it would also be a great way for me to get to know quite a lot of awesome people, and be part of an awesome community.

The majority of the reason that I made this account, was to get advice from people that ride on what bike I should get to start off with, gear, and camera/recording stuff.

First of all, I'll let you know my current thoughts, just so you guys know where I am at with my decisions.

I have grown up on a farm riding quite a few different types of dirt bikes, so that is pretty much my number one preference for a bike. At the moment, I am looking at probably a 2008 Yamaha WR250X, as it is already motard straight from the factory, and I'm guessing it shouldn't really be that hard to get a set of dirt wheels for it. My other preferred option is the WR250R, as (from what I can see) it is pretty much identical to the WR250X, just with a few more dirt orientated parts (if I did go for this, it is easy enough to get road wheels for it anyway).

I already have all of the safety gear from dad being a safety nut (which I can completely understand). My gear consists of Answer Fazer motocross boots, DriRider Alpine jacket, DriRider Rallycross Pro Pants, Draggin Drayko Optix pants, HJC Samurai helmet, DriRider summer and winter gloves, and multiple pairs of motocross gloves.

Camera/Recording wise, I have absolutely nothing haha, A GoPro is definitely top of my list, but I am welcome to suggestions. Coms wise, I have been looking around quite a bit, and am leaning towards the Sena SMH10 or the 20S, just due to reviews from quite a few riders, and from also family that ride bikes.

But yeah, I think that is all. Sorry if that is too much for an introduction statement thingy, but I like to get myself out there, and let people know where I am at :)

Welcome, year 12 Karl Dutschke...

Welcome :) ! I'd give 'ya advice but it sounds like you already have your mind made up on a number of things :p ... plus I'm more into sports bikes and don't know that much about dirt bikes ~_~ . That's really an awesome helmet you have there :D !!! Cool looking boots and outfit, too :) (I like to dress in all black - ninja style :p ~). Camera... Check out the Sony Action Cam. It's a pain to get mounted... kind'a like the GoPro, but the SteadyShot feature can't be beat ;) . You can get used once for a decent price off of ebay but they are susceptible to heat over 105°F, a bit drawback :( .....

Anyways, will be looking forward to the day you get your bike and your first motovlog up :) ! Enjoy the spring down there while you can... I'm already beginning to think about putting my bike away for the upcoming winter :( (not yet, but in a couple of months ~_~ ).....

Good luck and catch you later ;) !~

(I play those instruments too, btw - marching band is a blast with the drums down at the "U" ;) ~)
