Help please - Filtering question

I'm looking for a bit of feedback. This is a very short clip of what happened to me this morning - 43 seconds in total.

I filtered up towards a pedestrian crossing and pulled in at a space before the zig-zag lines.

The Audi (sic!) driver was not happy, clearly, and me having looked back before moving off, he then revved up and came alongside me extremely close. For whatever reason, this is what he did. I vented, and then pulled in soon after, to the tune of "f..ing w.....r".

My question is more about filtering - I clearly left enough space for him to undertake such a maneouvre. Should I be pulling in more central when stopping in a space to prevent it happening, as this is not the first time, and clearly he (and others at times) dislike a scooter with L-plates passing them - much like the abuse that cyclists get?

I don't see anything wrong with what you did, perhaps taking up a slightly more dominant road position would have stopped him doing that but there was no harm done he didn't force you out in the end and you can rest assured that you got of the bike in a better mood than the jealous card river who is stuck in a cue :D

Yeah I wouldn't get worked up about it, you left a gap and he went to take it without any regard to how uncomfortable it would make you feel. You either have to boss the road by removing that gap or leave yourself to the centre line looking for the overtake.

I often get that whilst travelling at speed and looking for the overtake. Watching my mirrors I can see the odd car creeping up into the space at which point I usually move back across to remove it until they've backed off again.

I watched this lastnight. Your filtering was fine, the oncoming slip road was clear and you had room to filter despite it. shoulder and mirror check, ok. Space used ok. If I was to try and find the issue I would venture to guess he felt that he had been overtaken by a slower vehicle at an opportune moment and now you found a way in front (legitimately) you were likely to slow him down OR he's a cunt.

Alternatively TripleTwister, you could replace the "OR" with an "AND"? I thought that specific trait was an essential prerequisite for members of the Audi owners club.
