i was just commuting at home, when i saw a biker standing still on the highway.
So i stopped to ask him what was goin on, a bit surprised he told me his bike stopped suddenly and wasn't do anything anymore.

So i asked him if i could offer him help, but the man says he was fine he would push his bike from the highway to an parking place and call Someone who could pick him up.

So after a fistbump and a Thank you i followed my way home.

i wonder what is normal these days, do you stop when you see a biker next to the Road, or would you appriciate it when you have troubles with your bike and Someone offered you to help, even if you cannot do much at that moment.

At the moment i didn't had my Gopro with me so i cannot make a video about it.

If I am able to I will always stop and ask. In the past I've picked up a few broken down bikes in my van and got folk home safely or to a garage. Have also grabbed water and a Mars bar for a few folk in the heat of summer who were waiting for a recovery truck when I've been on 2 wheels. I hope if ever I needed help someone would do the same for me! :-)

I've never encountered a broken-down bike in my couple years of riding, but I was sure grateful when someone stopped to help me a couple months ago! There's more comradery to two bikers instead of being in a car and helping out someone who's car broke down huh? :) I guess use your own sense of judgement of the area and the situation before stopping. And I guess don't stop if you're in the UK according to the posts I've read about the situation there lol :(

Depends on the situation if there on there own no help then ill stop if its after a crash with people around them and i think ill do worse than good i wont stop

Actually just happened to be today. Was on my home from a long trip(made a video, had to scrap it due to bad camera settings-completely washed out-rant for another post). I was sitting in construction traffic for like 30 minutes, then it cleared up and we started moving good again. Just as we started going about 60mph, bike completely dies. I'm just coasting Along in the fast lane trying to move right to get to the breakdown lane. Made it without dieing thanks to a coca cola truck and a fellow R6 rider who held up traffic while I made my way across all 4 lanes while slowing down. Butt pucker moment for sure. No idea what happened with the bike. It started right up when I finally got to safety. Rode the last 90 miles home no problem.

Dang! Sounds like a breaker tripped and then cooled down enough to reset.

Does the bike even have breakers?

If not then based on what you said about the footage, I suspect a gremlin.

Nah, far too busy in my own world to give a sh*t and make his/her problems my own. + what help would i be anyway, I don't ride with a toolbox in my bag lol. Call the RAC/AA bro. I aint some miracle fairytale mechanic who pops up for damsels in distress. However, if it were someone i knew, id gladly stop and try offer some sort of assistance. After i've taken the the piss out of them and ripped them a new one of course :) (i'm not a cu*t, honest. lol)

I value my job which keeps a roof over mine and my partner's head. It also keeps my bike well fed and maintained. I would not put that in jeopardy for a stranger. Biker or not.

Like i said, im far to busy to care about making somebody's problem my own. Thats why theres AA/RAC.

Put it this way, if i broke down. I'd rather a professional who i can trust and hold liable look at my bike than some randomer with a toolbox. LOL

Yes, I usually always stop if I can. Even if it's for moral support. Plus, the more the merrier. At least with two people standing there others are less likely to attempt anything stupid like highway robbery. I recently came across a guy with a 2016 Indian Scout that I'm guessing blew an ECM or something. I obviously couldn't fix it on the side of the highway and I told him I wasn't going to touch it, let Indian do it. I stayed with him on the side of the highway for a good two hours after work. Finally the tow truck called and said he was on the way so we shook hands and I went on home.

They have fuses, but no breakers. If anything I think it might have started to overheat and it shut itself down. I thought at first I hit the kill switch, but I cycled it and didn't do anything. I'm with the gremlin idea. I'll give her a good look over tomorrow just to make sure.

As far as helping other riders, I doubt I'd have enough time to safely make it across the highway after spotting them in the breakdown lane. If it's a backroad, I usually slow down and Beep or give a quick rev (can't hear the horn really over the exhaust anyways) just to get their attention. I've only been able to help one rider, a chick who took the wrong exit and needed to get back in the right direction. Down here the highways say north/south but go east/west.

If I can and able to, I will stop to see if I can offer any help. But yes, although you have good intentions, always be wary, cannot rule out the possibility of a trap/setup, so be careful and cautious when stopping to offer help.

If feeling doubtful to engage personally, you can stop further ahead and call the highway patrol to inform of a stopped/broken down vehicle and ask them to go have a look.
