Help Needed: Front Forks

Hi all, your help would be appreciated.

Need some scooter help. Been getting quite a bit of front-wheel feedback recently, then this morning, bike was like riding through mud. Thought it was something wrong with petrol as I put higher octane in for first time last week. Getting back on just leaving work, bike really difficult to free wheel, and front appears to dive down very easily, and some squeaking. Limped my way back home.

Think it's my front forks lost most compression, possibly instead my brakes binding a little (lot?). Or both. Easy job or difficult one?

Video of issue below, am sure I shouldn't be able to easily push the forks down so far one handed while the bike is on its centre stand. Alternative is that the brakes are binding really badly

Any advice?

Have diagnosed issue numbwer one - seized front brake calipers. Will find out if fork oil disappeared tonight too

The whole problem was the seized caliper. Bottom piston was solid. Wouldn't have been able to fix it (as best we did) without the help of a Vespa enthusiast mate. Looks like the piston was binding so much it was holding the forks down, making it appear there was no oil in them.

I had been getting some feedback from the front for a couple of weeks and squeaking; should have looked at this a lot earlier. Lesson learnt, and luckily without an accident.

Seeing as the bike is only 18 months old and still under warranty and due its next service in 1000km, think I'll take it in early and see if the issue can be sorted under warranty. Don't think the internal mechanical parts should be seizing after just 18 months/14000km on the road, but I guess it's all down to what is written in the warranty
