Am not sure how that can be workable, filtering in the UK is pretty much the done thing... but note it says driving between lanes... I don't drive my bike, I ride it! ;-)
Yes, but are you disrupting others with your rowdy self?:D

I am wondering about "free hands" myself. I might be in trouble with my wife on date night.

The drifting part I think might be aimed towards those of us riding aimlessly from town to town. Often seen riding up to a bar and walking in only for the talking and music to stop.

Ad suitability? So this only affects if you can show ads on that kind of video, but not if you can post it, right?

Right. You can still post but YouTube might not be able to sell ads time to all their potential clients.

There aren't many video's without a lanesplit somewhere in them.
So far so good.
And otherwise fight it, because it is legal here ;)

lane splitting is like the metric system - Murica looses it's shit at the slightest inference that it may work perfectly well - whilst the rest of the world just gets on with it

Actually "Murica" as whole does not lose it and it has nothing to do with metric system. Here are the the states where it is allowed:

The problem why there are not more comes down to getting laws changed, size of lanes vs. cagers, and some riders lack of skills or mindset to know how or when to do a lane split safely ;)

Not a dig at the USA particularly - my point was just that we have tiny lanes and our riders are just as inexperienced in parts , but we filter(lane split) when required and it on the whole doesn't cause problems. The only people I have heard getting angry about how dangerous it is are from states where it is not done (legally). There will always be dick heads on bikes where ever you are - this should not stop normal motorcyclists using a very productive and safe (when done properly) method of riding. There will always be car drivers who think its "unfair" that we get to the front of a que - but in my experience not as many as you would first think.

Sorry, I did read as a dig since it read like a generalization.

Believe me, there are some places where lane splitting is needed due to stand still long traffic. Also we need to be able to ride up and out of stop and go traffic on our interstates as bikes bake human flesh when sitting and running long periods.

I agree the Heads ruin things for all other riders. I happened to catch one such Head speed more than 15 mph over the limit with construction crew present. The rider then proceeded to lane split at the light (it is not legal where I live but some rider organizations are lobbying for it).

I thought how bad it made riders look and how stuff like that makes it harder to get the laws changed because those drivers likely will speak out against it either to lawmakers or their friends and family.

It saved the rider less than 30 seconds. But they got to feel important...

At traffic stop lights the main reason to filter to the front is to not be between two cars - being tail ended is a real risk. The reality of being at the front is that even if we wait our turn in line most bikes can be past the cars shortly after the lights change.- its not really out getting anywhere quicker. I find lane splitting for me is used regularly to get past what I consider as risk situation - be that stationary or moving - not something I do every time but it is a nice skill/tool to have to use should you need it.

I agree with Ponkster about using splitting to get past risky situations (especially at traffic lights where sitting at the tail end of traffic is just asking for trouble) and away from jams. Over here it's legal too so I can't see how YouTube can police it...

Dang, no hands-free? That'll hobble me and M$B, and just when I was getting good at unscrewing my Hero 9 selfie stick and getting some sweet handheld shots! I also like to put a dance break into my vids on occasion.

To be clear, the only state in the US where lane splitting is truly legal is California. A few other states leave it as grey areas, neither legal nor specified as illegal. Pennsylvania is 100% a state where it is illegal, if police see you doing it here they will pull you over for it.

Don't ask me how I know....;)

We call if filtering here and when you do your test they actually encourage it, well they did when I took mine!
I lost my examiner on my bike test by filtering, ended up out of radio range and didn't hear him tell me to turn right and wait for him lol... I found him again later, but it did cause some issues in him being able to tell if I rode safely or not... thankfully he gave me benefit of the doubt :-D

That was lucky!:)
