I've just read in the latest edition of Dispatch ezine that current hazard perception clips are to be replaced by CGI clips. What are your thoughts on this?

I personally believe it is a bad idea. How can a virtual clip be as good as a proper recording? Besides which, attaching a GoPro to a car would be much cheaper

Well, having been through the theory test last year, I'd have to say that most changes would probably be a good thing. It's awful the way it is.

It's still the taxpayer footing the bill!

It'd be cheaper to go to some of our YouTube channels and use that footage. It'd be in better quality too!

...Buts it meant to be realistic... Identifying hazards within the environment that you're going to be riding/driving in....

Good thing, when I did this test it was real bad got 100% on the questions and about 70% on the hazard. The problem with the hazard test is your interpretation of it. I remember one clip that was obvious as you approached a corner there was a sign for hidden entrance, so yes click for that, then yes a car was pulling out.. so click again.

Now other clips were of a high street, children, trees, signs, crossings, bus pulled in etc etc.. As far as I am concerned they are all potential hazards!

So hopefully the CGI will make it more clear what they are looking for or hoping you will notice.

(Its not letting me delete my other post :/)
When I did my car theory last august, this section was at the end! They ask you to watch 2 clips for research purposes, one with the standard clips and one with the new CGI and then you pick which you prefer to watch! I picked the normal ones

I agree, because it says click when you see potential hazard, then click when this hazard develops. On one clip I clicked everytime I saw a hazard, and it said I clicked in too much of a rythym which meant I was cheating and gave me no points for that clip!
