Have You Ever Re-done A Video? (advice Needed)

Have you guys ever posted a video to your channel and then taken it down to do some further edits before putting it back up again? I've had this bad driver compilation video up on my channel for a few days. I pause the frame from 0:02 - 0:16 to explain the situation in text on the screen. I think my viewers think the video is freezing.

I'm debating about taking the clip down to shrink the freeze time and reposition some text. Am I over thinking it? Thanks guys!

Do what ever eases your mind. I've reposted before. And actually over half the vids I've uploaded I've taken down years after the fact because of having second thoughts. lol

I have but only when i forgot the outro or something, Usually before it has finished processing tho!

Yeah! Plenty of times!

Have you considered something cheesy like having a sound effect signifying that the video has paused? Or maybe cheesier still, a flashing 'pause' graphic or Something?

Attention spans are low on YouTube and its our challenge to keep hold of them as long as possible. So sometimes you just have to imagine a distracted child watching your video. Flashy stuff and noises is good to balance out the quiet or still parts!

A quick fix would be to put in an annotation (using the YT video editor tools) during that supposedly "freeze" duration stating it's not frozen. :)

You could always stick in a "do not adjust your set" image.

A rule of thumb I use...

Watch it at least 2 times before you upload it.
Upload it as unlisted, let it process to full quality, watch it again on youtube, if satisfied, post public.

In short, just have fun doing it.

A little longer...
Try not to over critique yourself. Remember, you won'y please everyone, as long as you are pleased with your content post away. Also consider why you are motovlogging, and posting in the first place. If you are doing it for money, to get famous etc, you may want to reconsider. For example. I started making videos for myself, family & friends, I want to leave video breadcrumbs for myself, and my family, sharing it with the world has shown me that I can meet a lot of really cool like minded people through vlogging.

Goodluck, and have fun!

I wish I could re-upload the same videos rendered correctly while keeping the same video links...If youtube can scan for copyright they should be able to scan for video changes if you want to re-upload

I have just hit 5TB of data (3 cameras and an audio stream with proxies will do that to you!) so I'm nuking my old content.
