Im just on my final touches of my first youtube upload and I am pretty excited but at the same time I know it is absolute poop and I will look back at this video one day and think how I can make such a god awful video.

Have you ever intentionally uploaded a video that was just so terrible?

I've deleted footage that I couldn't stand, as I figured that if I don't like it than others will certainly not like it, but it was very boring and lame, so it depends on why you think its bad though, remember that your worst critic is always yourself, so what we think is bad, is not going to always be disliked by everyone else.

I don't think that uploading footage just for the sake of it is a good idea if your wanting to build a following. Its quality content that gets people coming back. Theres not much point in putting up a video that you didnt enjoy doing, vlogging for me is about the enjoyment and fun from setting out for the ride to coming back and playing with the footage and then talking with people who have watched the video. Putting up something that no one will watch wont get that.

So if your saying excited about it, its probably not that bad. Be proud of your work and let the world see it. If you get dislikes, or bad comments, don't be disheartened, use it as tips for your next video.

Put up the link after and I'll be happy to watch for you!

My first one was terrible. Mic issues crooked camera no content, but I still uploaded it. Actually kept it private for a little bit then thought fuck it.

Now the mic issues are sorted the camera is straight and I think the content is improving.

you will all ways look back at old videos and think there poo but there will be people out there that will think its good because every one thinks different

Bit of both really. I've made videos that I loved and got sod all feedback. I've uploaded a couple of shit ones and got 40k views which was annoying

I thought my early vlogs were not bad, but looking at them now I realise how terrible they were. If you already thing they're bad then that doesn't bode well.
Its easy to get excited about your first uploads, but it's better to wait until you've made something you like.
You could always upload it as unlisted and send us the link (after you have met the @dandoolittle minimum post count :) ) and we will give our honest opinions.

I've uploaded videos that I thought were a bit sub-par. But so far there doesn't seem to be a correlation between what I think is good or bad and what my analytics thinks. Like Dan, some of my favourite videos have much less views and interaction than some of my least favourite ones. So I upload everything that I can manage to polish to reasonable quality.

Just remember that very few people will get it right the first time. It takes time and practice to get better at editing, filming and vlogging. My audio was extremely shit in the beginning, and only recently has it gotten to the point where I can relax about it. My editing is also very much a work in progress, and so is my ability to get on my bike and say anything coherently while riding.

That so pisses me off when that happens... put your soul into a video and no one watched upload a stupid one about a frog and everyone goes mad (no I haven't done a frog video... but...).

As for the original question... yup all the time and people seem to like em ;) No accounting for taste hey!
