I was going to say, I dont think it will fit but there you go.....

Interesting tale (loose use of the word interesting) I am a cheapskate.

I run 3 x Hero 7 Blacks, that I bought one by one from an AV Rental company for around £150 each. I improved my audio by using a Zoom F2 recorder, but wanted to experiment with a media mod. Bought a second hand Hero 8 Black with media mod for £165. Chose the 8 as it was the last of the Hero's to use the same batteries as the 7.

Super pleased with myself over that.

Here's a picture of my field box, pre Hero 8 purchase

Interesting test @R-Rated - the Max and 8 batteries only differ in length, so I don't see why it wouldn't work. I think they're the same voltages, too, just higher mAh on the Max batteries. Keeping it in place could prove troublesome, and of course it won't be waterproof.

Wow, that case is outstanding!
Thanks Moto Mengy, it's just the cheap one on Ebay/Amazon, abour £18 or so. I'm working on another one at the moment for my drone. The case that the Fly More Kit comes with is too soft for my liking, and this particular box works well with my bike luggage systems.
