Handlebar mount

Anyone got any recommendations for a good handlebar mount? i got one recently that I thought would be sturdy and fairly decent and ended up ruining a load of footage as it was unusable with the vibration from my bike on acceleration (Harley shake!)

I don't think you really can get away from that with just a different mount, in the end mounts have to be rigid to support the weight of the camera. Generally one would mount the camera as far away from the engine as possible but if the Harley shake is as severe as it sounds your best bet is to add some rubber between the clamp and the handlebars if you can't find a less shaky mounting location.

A camera with image stabilization should help as well. If you can minimize the shake then you should still be able to use the handlebar mounted camera as a decent second angle.

Have a look at mounts for mountain bikes, they tend to have a little more flex in them.

If it's that bad then your only solution may be to use a gimbal.

I have the official GoPro handlebar mount, works great but I do have to have image stabilisation turned on to make it watchable.

I have a spare camera which is a ContourHD that I was thinking about using on the bars on the Fireblade but I dont know what the best option will be to make it stable and the Contour stabilization is not the best.

Ram works well except at idle. There is a GoPro seat post/handlebar kit for bicycles that I use on my crash bar, rear saddlebag guard, and trunk luggage rack. It reduces the vibrations.

Not handlebar but under-mirror mounted.

Found this and tried on a Jap trail vibrating twin :

Mounted with RAM system and adapted tu use with Sony X3000 via GoPro mount (yes my life is sometimes complicated...) :

And the result is... Taddaaa !!

... no more disturbing rolling shutter or jello effect (still some but not significant), and vibrations grow with RPMs but possibility to solve it with Mercalli or other post-prodution soft.

In conclusion, alternative mounting option to consider :)
