I am here to rant and rant is what i will be doing......i shall begin!

Vodafone are doing my nut in, they are totally useless at customer service. I spoke to them on website live chat thingy knowing full well i was due for an early upgrade this April asking for them to confirm date to be told that i can actually upgrade now, i was like great lets get going, he called me up transferred me through to their upgrade team to be told...no sir you cant upgrade yet it is in April. I was like WTF your man just told me i could upgrade now?? she was like no no sir it is in april not now the guy you spoke to clearly got it wrong. I Spoke then to the live chat dude (luckily his chat window was still open) and said 'she says i cant upgrade' so he said that is strange i will call you and transfer you through again and they will be able to help as i will speak to them first. He transfers me through and the guy i now speak to says hello and i say 'hey has your man just updated you', he says 'no i just got put on to you' i got straight back on live chat to tell the guy and the moment i tell him he just ends the chat window GRRRRRRRR

I decided to email Vodafone to complain (surprise surprise me moany old git) and 7 email exchange later i am getting so annoyed with them, you email to complain and basically get a copied and pasted response back hoping you will go away....i mean SERIOUSLY you complained they think they can get away with just ushering you under the damn carpet. I have now sent my 8th email in frustration stating if i don't get a personal response from someone then i will end my contract at renewal and leave.....where is customer loyalty and retention these days they don't seem to care anymore. All the years i have been with them and they don't seem to give a damn. This is aside form the fact the only personal bit they put after the pasted section saying the hope they have answered your question blah blah blah is in a horrific grammatical mess that you have to read over 5 times to understand what they are trying to construct.

Anyways i feel better now, i hope some of it made sense, if not...i feel i have had an outlet lol

I used to be on Vodafone. They're one of the worst networks in the UK.
I also used to work in a phone shop for a year and a half, selling contracts and PAYG handsets.

They're more expensive than other networks, they have terrible customer service and their signal is appalling.
I had to spend of time on the phone to them and they never made anything easy. I was on hold for 3 hours, 15 minutes once for a customer to them.

I actually used to steer people away from Vodafone due to how shockingly bad their network was. But... they did have the lowest credit check pass score so sometimes I had no choice. It never went well...

Regarding your upgrade - Vodafone don't give anything extra to customers upgrading. There is no benefit from staying with them, and you could get a better deal elsewhere!

I'm not sure how much has changed since I left working in the shop a year ago, but it was always the case that Orange was the best network for pretty much everything.

They've a call centre in Newcastle that was always manned by friendly and clever staff that were always up for a talk and absolutely always helpful. Never let me down helping out a customer once.

They were also always about £5 cheaper for the same deal than the other networks too, as well as throwing in tons of extras like Orange Wednesdays (not just movies, also 2 for 1 at Pizza Express on Wednesdays) and magic numbers.

If you're under 24 they've an extra cool thing called U24. It's unlimited calls to any Orange number and an extra 1gb of internet. Absolutely free to add on, but like I say you have to be under 24 to get it.

Hope some of this helps!

Cheers for the reply,

My trouble is i only receive vodafone singal where i work as we are in a valley and the company had to purchase their own mast, very frustrating so i am stuck with them until the point i leave....check out the grammer in their last email:

And i quote...

"I discussed the case with my manager and we can make you for an early upgrade if you wish as one of exception. However, you need to pay for 2 months line rental. "

SERIOUSLY!!!!

oh just to add to this they are acting like they are doing me a favour when it is 2 months till my upgrade, they must think i am stupid

What they're actually doing is asking you to pay to end your contract early, then setting you up with a new one.

That's very sneaky of them.

yeah i know, i am just being petty i guess but i just am striving for them to give me the customer service i deserve

I took out a contract with orange for £41 a month and read all the smallprint (took photos too) Nowhere it said excluding vat. They charged me vat. I am not paying it. And I never will. Every month they add 20% vat and it is building up in my account balance. they keep ringing me telling me I have to pay it. No I dont. They are braking the law by misleading customers. I will happily go to court too :]

Good luck! I'll be interested to find out how that goes for you.

All I'm gonna say is; T-Mobile ftw. :P

It only so happens that where I am right now gets no signal other than Vodafone though, but I'll be long gone before I give a damn! Not had a single issue with T-Mobile, and their data fair usage policy was brilliant when I had a limit, but now I've got unlimited data. I downloaded over 30GB in December!

I will let you know :] I have a lawyer should it come to that. lol. I have all the evidence to prove my case, it has happened before so this time I made sure I took copies of all their documentation and small print. They have not a leg to stand on.
