Gopro Or Drift

I feel the GoPro gives you slightly better quality videos, but looks just totally... :S yeah not the best... they both could have done with working together to be honest and made one sick camera :p

Ghost S in vivid mode is good. Scroll down the vids area and look at my London filtering video.

Haven't tried the Drift, but like the Sony cams, the shape of it tends to favor being mounted on the side of the helmet, while the GoPro can be placed in front of it which would give more of a POV view. Said POV is a big + in my opinion.

I use both.

Drift is a better helmet cam out of the box. GoPro needs some work as overs have said.

As for the video between the two. My ghost-s is better than my hero 3 silver.

If Drift had SuperView it would be the best on the market. It's FOV is the only real thing that lets it down. Like others have said, the Drift is better out the box but the GoPro does offer better image quality and higher FOV with the downside being it's more bulky.

For motovlogging the Drift is hands down the best option and the easiest to use. I own all 3 and the drift is the best all around for vlogging. My recommendation is to go with Drift if you are wanting it solely for motovlogging. If you want something to also use for cinematic stuff on the occasion then go for Sony (all models from the as20 and up are great) it shoots great quality and is much cheaper than GoPro. I am not knocking GoPro either though since they are great as well but make sure the money you spend is worth its value in the amount of use you will get out of it.

GoPro (I have Hero 4 Black):
Pro: Quality, Frame Rate, Superview Option
Cons: Only good for Chin Mount side mount is bulky to me, Battery life sucks, more moving parts to deal with.

Drift (I have HD Ghost):
Pro: Easy of Use just click on and go, no mic adapter, quality, lens turns, vivid mode, aerodynamic, people don't notice it's a cam, cheaper
Cons: no superview

Sony Action Cam (I have as100v):
Pro: Quality, Frame rates, Features/ options, Image Stabilization
Cons: mount options,

Hope this helps out.

Never used a Drift cam, but I love my chin mounted GoPro setup.

Have a flat black helmet, open back black GoPro case that I velcro on. The black on black keeps it somewhat stealth.
Setup works well, but I have to run a mic to voice recorder for external audio. Don't mind editing though,

I used a Drift Ghost-S and a Hero Black 4.

Personally the GoPro offers extremely good video quality, but I'd still rather pick the Drift anyway because it is just as good tbh. That coupled with the low profile for more comfortable and sleek mounting, a rotatable lens beats the GoPro hands down as far as a helmet cam is concerned.

Excluding chin mount of course.

The chin mount when done is pretty compact and gives a good FOV without the helmet in the way, but it was a pain in the arse to set it up, requiring a lot of chopping up extra bits of super strong foam tape so that the mount would fit over the curvature of the front of my helmet.

It also would not work with my DS helmet because the air vent covers the entirety of it's front.

As everyone else has mentioned, I purely went for the Go Pro for the chin mount view, I didnt even consider any other action cam because of this.. plus I got a good deal on black friday sales :p

Havnt used drift but I am impressed with my go pro. I use chest mount and a $30 usb mic off ebay. All been great quality.
