Just bought a Neewer lapel mic with the gopro adapter to start vlogging, and the mic works well but as far as I can tell it captures audio in stereo but only records it as right side audio. So whenever I go to listen to and watch my videos, I can only hear the audio from the right side of my headphones... Any way to fix this?

I have the 4 silver. The adapter isn't the original gopro one, just one of the cheaper ones on amazon. The adapter is working fine I think, I believe the problem is between the gopro's recording capabilities and the stereo mic's...

until it gets sorted, if you've got reasonably good video editing software you should just be able to make the audio channel mono until the problem is resolved? had to do that in the past a few times but as long as the underlying music track was stereo i don't think anyone noticed.
So you think I should just deal with it and convert the stereo to mono? what program do you use to edit?

i just thought that might be helpful till you get the problem sorted. i'm using sony vegas to edit so i can just convert stereo audio track to mono if wanted.
but i know nothing about the the stereo mikes as i just use a proshot chinbar mount and skeleton door on the gopro black to pick up spoken audio.

It will be your mic or the adapter.
As already mentioned just clone your audio channel to the other one.
