Gopro 5 Or Garmin Virb Ultra?

Rookie
I am looking at these two action cameras. GoPro is the main seller and water proof, but I like the features that Garmin offers (showing speed, track, engine power, thrust,..) and also a Bluetooth for which I don't know, if it can be set up to work with my Bluetooth mike from Schuberth. Both become not water proof, if you are to power them from USB. Anybody uses a new Garmin Virb Ultra?

Haven't seen the Garmin in action personally, but I have seen the cool screen overlays and I like them. What would you be using the camera for mostly? If it's vlogging and producing videos I would go with the Go Pro. If it's track riding or spirited road riding or for saftey and you just want the footage for later the Garmin has all those cool bells and whistles.

Personally I will always lean towards the Go Pro because no one has shown me a camera that does it better.

I would use for YT traveling and track days videos.

Sounds like the Garmin might be more up your alley, but like I said I can't really give a personal opinion on it other than that all the stats it provides is really cool. I'd look up some comparison videos and see which one suits your needs better.

Thanks.
Showing the speed and such data can be tricky, if you are not totally obeying the limits. On the other hand, our country is so small, that I am over the border in one hour and can show the speed in my videos only for riding abroad.

talking of your country, does it ride good there? I remember living in Bulgaria a few years ago for a few years. I started wondering now if it'd be totally awesome to ride there. BG has a lot of similarities if I'm not mistaken

Hmm, Bulgaria is about 1.000km away from us. Slovenian roads are similar to Austrian that we border to to the north. We are close to Dolomiti and we can take daily rides there. Also the Croatian seaside is close, so we can ride all year round with fine weather. Take a look of this YT video my friend did last Spring on an empty Croatian road called Jadranska magistrala.
I am the one in front on a red GSA. We took it slow and relaxing, it was his first ride on that road. I didn't even know he was filming, otherwise it would go faster to show how good am I....:D

oh man that looks awesome. Didn't realize Slovenia was that far from BG dammit :D

I did a simmilar ride in 2010, not on a motorcycle but in a Alfa Romeo 159 D Sport Wagon from Turino to Zagreb via the cost.
Wish i had my camera, was following a stranger I meet in Italy that showed me a short cut in to Croatia, he was killing the ride in a Honda Accord ( TSX In North America )
What a blast that part of the world is.

It is not a shortcut from Italy to Zagreb. It must be you took the road through Istria and from Plomin to Rijeka. This is also a very good road.
Here it is where is the part that was filmed. It is the best part of this road, but all of it is very good.

The around 150km part from Novi Vinodolski to Karlobag and then the second (filmed) part to Starigrad. The first part to Karlobag is more high speed, than the second part.

I have only used the normal Virb elite..
Used the overlays once, so dont let that be a selling point for you.
Remember, People get weird when you speed,

I am more inclined to the GoPro 5 at the moment. What I am not sure about the Virb is the b
Bluetooth connection with the mic. This could be a good feature for vloging. No cables needed, if it works as I understood. i don't think, I will talk in my videos, so it is not necessary for me. But could be a good feature for those that do.
