Wow, that sucks! Did you try exporting it via the Batch Exporter and reframing in your editing software?

Yep. It will not export and as far as using my editing software, that is a no-go without exporting it from GoPro first.
Wow. Is it just the one clip, or is it a continuing issue? I've found that a Factory Reset on the camera can fix a lot of stuff like that.

It was just the last couple of files from that day.
That's odd... I wonder if the battery got low? GoPros are notorious for wonky stuff happening when the battery percentage gets below 30.

The only thing that I can think of is it got cold but only in the 40F range.
If you're using blue top batteries, that could be the issue - they don't like the cold very much.

And I recently saw they started making Enduro batteries for the Max, so that may be an option or a fix.

My GoPro bluetop batts seem to work great in the cold, its the very hot weather mine don't like! At least not in the Hero 8, my Hero 7 works flawlessly in all kinds of weather.

GoPros are just finicky creatures...

Funny, I've recently used my Hero 8 in some colder weather, and the blue top in IT seems to like the chilly temps just fine, but in the 9 and 10, the blue tops drain FAST, and the Enduro batteries do MUCH better.

I also have a finicky blue top for my 8 that doesn't seem to want to charge... the light actually goes OUT on the Hero 8 dual battery charger, but only on that one battery.
