I'm having real trouble with the settings on my Gopro... firstly I don't really understand them and secondly how do I upload best quality clips for bikes to youtube, or is vimeo better I don't know ... it's a real headache.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

I've chin mounted the thing on my Arai which is a great position, for me.

And a world apart from a few years ago when this was my set up... don't laugh, we had a copper stop us and we blagged our way out of it.

youtube is horrible with quality reduction but if you want to grow your channel its still the best place...

shoot at 1080 30 or 60fps and whatever view you want Wide/Normal/Narrow...

if you're editing look into your render settings as well

I'm not really interested in growing a channel... more interested in picture quality, so I can share my rides with people who have a passion for bikes. I don't really care how many view's I get, I just want the people who do view to get the best..

At the moment the camera is set at 1080 48fps, and it's ok'ish... lovely when it's on my laptop great quality. Youtube just seems to massacre that quality in the upload...
What is the best render to get that level of quality up to an online site?

vimeo does not appear to reduce the quality nearly as much as YT

Vimeo definantly does a better job at keeping the quality on par with the original file. Youtubes compression can be a real pain in the rear...

Filming at 1080p with at least 30fps is more then enough for all your regular driving.

Personally I prefer the widest angle since it gives a really peaceful image which is not as shaky as narrow filmed footage. You would want people to get motionsick haha. It also gives your footage a nice action feel imho.

This is not youtubes fault. How are you converting and rendering the files? I believe you can even now upload your footage from the app?
