A word of warning....
I'm no innocent at tech as it's what I do as a business and I hold my hands up to this. Its my cock up but it's a story you should all heed.
Google/YouTube are attempting to slowly force all users onto the Google+ system. If you try and set up a new youtube account it is automatically made/linked to a Google+ account regardless. Now I am not going into the pros and cons of that but the problem some of you may now get if you are an existing youtuber.
You finally agree to upgrade to a google+ account via youtube as they now allow aliases so your youtube account can keep its name and url. So your real name will not be shown.
But when you do this you will get an alias account with the same name, of course this will cause some confusion. For when you try and access your youtube inbox on the alias account (which WILL look like your main account) it will appear empty and so will your play lists AND will show your real name.
Now if you get this the best thing to do is to switch accounts to the OTHER account, but detecting which is the alias can be a little problematic. It is usually the one that does not have your custom channel graphic thumbnail. The problem is everyone thinks, well the original channel would surly be displaying the original graphic not the alias?
So people including me select the alias thinking its the original and then delete the other (the original!) when you do this your entire channel gets erased.
So the google+ and youtube integration for existing youtubers is still a mess... avoid or take great care
Yes I did the above, yes its my fault. But learn from my mistake over 2k subs over 100 videos all gone :-/
PS: Google are trying to recover but all subs will be lost and all video comments that's IF it's possible to be recovered.
