22/09/2012 A new law that mandates all French motorbike to be tested yearly by government test centers for a fixed price (MOT in the UK).
In total about 34'000 bikers hit the streets of France to throw toilet paper on Government buildings & motorbike test centers that have openly embraced the new law, in the hope to make some easy money off bikers.

I swear these events are encouraged by toilet roll manufacturers... just like valentines day by card companies.

Personally, don't mind paying for an MOT, last test showed I had a few things I would not have noticed myself, and I work on my bikes all the time. Sometimes you just see past "safe" operational requirements when you get used to it. It all depends on your point of view of how you wish to look at it, no-one likes to have something imposed on them without there being a choice about it in a democratic state.

The emissions test would be useful, but if you have a mate that works in a garage, he will probably do it for free. It's all about the EU making decisions on behalf of local government, and the French are not too happy about that. It was a great day out.

I was going to do this in Limoges, a bit of a shame I moved away when I did, it would have been a right laugh
