Go Pro Hero 3+ Setup

Hey All,
I am having a problem trying to set up my wifi remote to my go pro as well as setting up the go pro app on my smartphone. Can you all help me? I have my Sena SMH10 and I am going to hook it up to my bike as well as the go pro sena backpack on my brand new bike. My bike is the Deluxe model so it has bluetooth capability for both the headset, phone, and it can bee hooked up to the speakers. I am hopefully going to see if it can play when I start motovlogging hopefully by next week. Waiting on some gear to come to me like the Scorpion EXO 900 Transformer Hi-Viz Helmet, and reflective pants, and reflective boots, as well as the Sena GoPro Backpack, backrest. I am planning on putting on some miles with my new bike so you all can see it. DubbsRider on youtube has a bike similar to mine, but his is a different color. I currently put on a tall windshield, and a luggage rack. Videos of that will be posted soon on my channel.

I didn't have any issues connecting to my wifi...other than the massive battery drainage that is caused by gopro wifi.

On the GoPro, change your wireless settings to GoPro App
On your smartphone, connect to the gopro network and use the password "goprohero".
If that works, you should be able to launch the app and connect to your gopro.

Thanks for the information. I do have it as an app on my smartphone, and I wonder if I need to even use the wifi remote no, if it is that ineffective with a major battery drain. I have noticed that it is a massive battery drain with the wi fi remote. Might just stick with the go pro app.

What phone do you use? Android have this 'change connection' setting that means if its connecting to a connection but can't find the Internet, it looks for another one.

Turn that off and you'll have no issue

I use a Samsung by Cricket. I usually use the 3g on it to connect to the net.

The GoPro app is only for android and IOS operating systems.

You technically don't need a phone just something like an I-touch/android tablet that has WiFi or any other device you can download from the apple or google play store

The app is fantastic as well, some times a bit glitchy but still worth it.

Normally I'll use the app and phone to make sure audio/video is good then shut the WiFi off to preserve battery.

I do have the GoPro App on my Android, but not sure where the "change connection" setting is that dandoolittle talked about. O O.k. So after you make sure the audio/video is working, and it is recording, you still do not need it activated just to make sure it is recording? If I have my phone hooked into my bike's charging USB, I do not think I would have to worry about it draining the battery on the phone I think, right?

You have to connect to the GoPro under your WiFi settings on your Android. The GoPro runs like its own hot spot

From there you can configure the SSID (camera name) and settings

Well, I do have the camera setup, but no audio just yet, until I get the go pro back pack. Will probably be about 3 to 5 days before it comes in, but I have got the camera angle set up. Will be vlogging today.
