Go Pro - Custom 3d Printed Mount

I am running a Hero 4 black on an Arai XD4 with Sena 20s and Sena Bacpac.

Stock Mic, from Sena. Thinking of adding a dead cat.

The hooligan style helmet did not provide great mounting options so I built my own mount using Blender and a 3D printer.

Turned out really awesome, all my pics are too high res to upload (site widget is too old). I'll post a video of the build once my posts are past 20. (seems like a weird policy to share content ).

I don't need to read the rules to know this forum is granny porn. what next a ban threat for "speaking out" ? Dude it's your site , rule it how you want.

Don't think I've ever threatened anyone. In fact I've maybe banned two people in the 3 years I've run this site.

Feel free to not use the site if you don't like it, no skin off my back. Plenty of spam filled forums to choose from, Google is your friend

There are virtually no motovlogger forums - this seems to be the main one. > I'll go read the rules.

Also, I take back my granny porn statement :p. Mods here seem pretty tolerable, no power tripping - that's a good sign.

where did you get/make the 3d model from? I've had luck using thingiverse, but the rf1200 3d model file I had has now been taken down. I'm tempted to upload the copy of it that I have...

How big is the file? I can host here if it helps

@Dan What is the max upload? I'll down sample it in photoshop and upload to the site.

@Kitten , I broke out calipers, pen, paper and modeled it myself in 3D off the helmet dimensions, then exported the STL for my printer. It took a couple iterations to get the expansion scale righ twith PLA but it is holding up like a champ with no post part processing such as edge fusing.

I found the pics, so once I know the upload size I'll post them.

This is the custom arm so I could have it tucked nice into the side and I custom positioned the hinge in 3D for both ends.

My Home built 3D printer does nice accuracy when

it prints slow!

Yes most of my designs end up in CNC alum. 3D prints are proto only, but can be epoxy coated and post processed.

and yes there is a leash. look for the black dot on behind the cam.

Current design durability is 1000km of hooligan vibrations on a Superduke 1290. Pretty good so far. I got more concerned at high constant wind pressure.

I'll throw it in my CNC machine maybe over the winter.

My 3D mount lasted 2 years and was solid. Changed my helmet and setup later. My mount was thick but I have friends who had very thin mounts that eventually broke.

Hi. I too am searching for a chin mount 3d printing design for an RF-1200 Shoei

Can anyone share an stl file please??
