Get You Stickers Somewhere It Matters!

NastyEvilNinja

4 wheel racer, 2 wheel lunatic
Some of you will know that I had a crack at racing on 4 wheels last year in the UK Formula Vee Championship.

For this season I aim to do the full year (7 rounds and 14 races) and make a bit of an impression on things, having picked up a few top 10 finishes in my first ever go in a car on track - let alone races!

"So what's this got to do with me, Nasty Evil Ninja??"

Well, a lot of you like to get stickers made up for your motovlogging to plaster everywhere and promote your channel.

Having ridden with a camera myself since 2009, I figure it'd be nice to help you guys out in a way that will also help me get on track, and effectively raise the profile of everyone involved, and create useful contacts between everyone involved.

"Get to the point and stop bloody rambling!"

Ok - so what I want to do is put your stickers on my racing car. Now, I realise you're not Marlboro, and don't have thousands to throw into advertising - so I'm going to try something that will be affordable.

So for, say (and I'm not decided, yet!), £50 I'll give you space for a small sticker on my car for a race, with a substantial discount (£150-£200?) if you want it there for the whole season. For comparison, if that was in Formula One, or even BTCC, you'd be looking at tens of thousands.

For that, you get your sticker on (possibly) the top rear panel of my car (which should also start some conversations and questions from people ;) ) and your name and web links on my blog and in my videos, and the chance to be seen worldwide on Motors TV!

Added to this, you'll be alongside any other main sponsors I can pick up - and if you have that kind of budget or a business we can talk about higher level options for you, too.

In short, you won't get anywhere near this value for money in any other advertising.

Is this something anyone would be interested in?

Good look with getting sponsorships. I'm guessing you're self funded then?

A few bike racers ask for donations in return for sticker placements etc, can't see it any different with it being on a car etc. More people see a sticker on a race bike or car than they will on a camera that rarely looks at anything other than a helmet and a few roads.

Racing costs way more than having a bimble around a town centre, nothing wrong with recouping some costs where you can.

You can either help him out or ignore it, without jumping on the 'community thing' and although I have an interest in motovlogging, I also have a massive interest in racing etc. I also sponsor racers and can tell you one thing for sure....The community of racers and even track day people is way more of a 'community' than the motovlogging one!

Good look with your venture. I highly doubt this will site will gain you some funds but sod it, you've tried

Cheers! Anyone who's raced will know what an absolute bargain this could be. The negative views will be that I'm trying to get you lot to pay for me to race - but in reality even though I'm doing one of the cheapest club championships around, this kind of money won't even begin to scratch the surface!

This definitely shouldn't be seen as you sponsoring me - because to put that in perspective I've just paid £330 to enter the Donington Park race in a few weeks. On top of that we've got tyres (£570+VAT per set), transport, fuel, club registration and that's not even considering any damage etc! There will be much bigger 'real' sponsors who'll hopefully make an impact on some of those costs.

I thought I'd put it out there as something a bit different, precisely because this is a community I'm a part of, and to be honest you'd be getting more benefits from this than I would. Also, a lot of people racing cars do ride bikes themselves - I'm sure like me they find normal 4 wheel road stuff a bit too tame compared to bikes!

Anyway, it's going to be there as an option. I just need to decide on the balance between having stickers on my car for the sake of it over having lots of prime advertising space that isn't being used by anyone!

Maybe to help you decide you should drop in on a race weekend and see what it's all about? I'd be happy to chat!

Do we get free tickets ;)

What else is normally on the same day as you at Donington? Friend of mine races single seaters, used to do Formula Ford, but not sure what he's moved on to now.

You get free tickets if you want to upgrade to a full sponsorship package - plus prominent stickers, your logo watermarked on my vids, use of the car for static displays, logo tattooed on me and anything else you want! But not for this much money... :p

Our meetings are ran by 750 Motor Club, so on the same days there will be a lot of other great races from Stock/Hot Hatch, BMW Compact Cup, BMW M3 Cup, Clio 182, Bikesports (Bike-engined road sports cars), and usually some hefty power in the Road Sports series (think GT40 and AC Cobra vs Caterham RS500's)!

I've been going to watch them for over 30 years before I actually stuck my toe in! :)

Ticket price is usually £10 to £15, so not bad value for a day out.

I'm thinking £35 per race for the stickers - or whole season for £150...

That should be a bit more affordable for anyone wanting to take a punt on it!
