Hay guys I was thinking of doing a vlog about this do you think its possible to get full bike gear, head to toe gear, between £100 and £150 pounds. I understand you could get crap stuff but I'm talking about decent lasting gear. I personally think its doable. I think it would be a challenge but doable, what do you guys think?

NEW including the lid? pushing it. Everything but the lid, YES :)
Boots £15 Gloves £10 Jacket £50 Trousers/kevlar £40.... oooh maybe, lol

I dunno man. I don't think you can even get a decent lid for that! Sometimes you're tripping over a dollar to pinch a penny. Gear that'll get you by? Sure, but decent, lasting gear? Dunno about that.

Be on the lookout for clearance sales though. I did get my jacket that I normally wear, regularly $400USD for $85USD because they had quit making them and only had a couple sizes left. It's too big, but by sinching it down with the adjustment straps it's fine. As an added bonus, I can wear several layers underneath for when it's below freezing!

Also, gear marketed towards the goldwing/touring crowd tends to be cheaper. You'd think a jacket that makes you look like a walking billboard would be cheaper but it's not!

My last lid was a CABERG TRIP £90 new, 5 star SHARP rating (I know not the best measure of a lid), next lid will be cheaper and a 4 star rating. The Caberg certainly worked when called upon :)

I was looking at gear when I read the OP. I was looking at boots around £55, Gloves £25 and a textile jacket and trousers £90 (£170 so far) and Im gonna spend £70 on a lid on saturday. This is gear ive chosen and there are cheaper and a lot dearer, £240 total that Id expect to last at least a couple of years :)

Keyword is decent of course! You can get a novelty half helmet ($10), a flannel shirt ($5), flip flops ($5), cheap jeans ($10) and some cheap gardening gloves ($10) and be in full squid gear for under $50!

Your right of course. I think £150 - £200 is doable for decent kit (2yr lifespan) that will offer reasonable protection (If buying new in the UK).

i say yes full kit.

got 2 textile suits from shows for £40 each set one last year and the year before

so

1x textile suit top and bottom £40
1x pair of secondhand mx boots £20
1x lid my hjc mx lid was rrp£130 paid £25
1x pair of lether gloves £15

thats £100 for a full kit
