Joined this forum just over a year ago after watching a few motovloggers on Youtube. It inspired me to do a few in my car, they were alright but now I'm proud to say I've finally done one on my bike! :D

Sound of my voice may not be perfect as I was recording my voice on the iPhone to sync with the video later but it didn't work. Thankfully my GoPro is mounted on to my helmet's chin bar so it managed to pick up my voice.

I hope you all enjoy it and feel free to comment on what's good/bad etc.

P.S. I'm a bit rusty on the bike.

Not a bad first vlog to be honest....
Points to note :
Camera angle pointed too low
Get more confident on the bike

These are only my opinion, but I'm thinking you should concentrate more on getting confident on the bike first before you start doing blogs, in other words, don't put your safety in danger by taking your concentration away from your riding and putting it on your vlogging.

The camera needs to be pointing more straight ahead than at your bike :)

Hope that doesn't sound like I'm having a dig, just trying to give a bit of constructive criticism.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yeah I noticed the angle was a little rubbish. The video after that was worse haha. Will sort that for next time. I usually talk to myself when out on a bike anyway so it doesn't distract me plus I'm quite good at multi-tasking haha.

I should get more confident on the bike now I know I wont be pushing it of roundabouts now or holding up the traffic when it cuts outs.

Ah, I just thought you looked a bit edgy with the multitasking. Never mind then... Carry on lol

A family member had similar issues with his bike cutting out a lot, never fixed it properly.... Then he crashed it, and got a new one instead

I think I've managed to fix it took it a 15 mile run this morning to Paisley for my lesson and so far it's had no problems. Maybe just a combination of a dirty carb and dodgy battery.

Congrats on your first, many more to come. You should concentrate a bit more on riding though seems like your just starting out, the mic.seems like its a bit underwater you can fix that by snaking the mic and wire under the cheek pads in your helmet and put the mic where your mouth sould be but flush with the inside of the helmet. If your not sure I made a vid on my channel you can get an idea. Its not hard

I'd definately say to try and get more confident on the road. I don't know what your experiance of riding consists of, but to me it looked like you lacked confidence :) Please don't take it the wrong way, but the last thing that anyone on here wants is for you to crash while distracted by doing a vlog :)

It looks like your levers are at an awkward angle, might want to get them repositioned so you can have easy access to your controls.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

1) I need to drill a hole into the side of the GoPro waterproof housing to plug the mic in so I thought i'd record it on my iPhone but didn't work. The actual GoPro it's self managed to pick up my voice but will fix it for next time.

2) I've only been riding bikes at the training school (Suzuki VanVan). That pretty much was the first time out on my own bike without any problems, was better yesterday when I rode up to my bike lesson but will get better the more I'm out on it.

3) Yep the levers are great! If you've noticed I can just about reach the front brake. Back at college tomorrow so I'll see of my lecturer will let me take the bike into the workshop and fix them.

Wont be doing a vlog again till well into next or when ever I remember haha, got both Mod 1&2 to sit this week so will be really busy.

When your drilling the hole make sure to remove the back door and put it in a clamp with a firm grip. A good bit of masking tape will add some grip and give you something to mark where you need to drill (I learnt the hard way what happens when you don't do the above) :P.

The others have already suggested raising the angle, but can I also recommend shooting in wide (16:9) mode too?

If it's a GoPro, then the default setting is 1280x960(ish) which is 4:3.

My GoPro reset itself to factory before I used it on my last video and I hadn't realised until I was editing the footage :?

Cool for mountain bikes on a trail, but not the best format for everything else ;)
