Finally Got A Dr-z400 Sm K7

Reize

2 Wheeled Islander
It was super cheap since it was old. I even got paid a lump sum for trading my 2011 FZ16 for this DRZ.

Other than the trip meter counter being totally shot and the instrument cluster being barely readable, the bike works like a charm!

Get a fcr mx 41 or 39 and a yoshi rs2 or I think the other good one is the mrd or something and do a 3x3 mod and it will make a world of difference. I think stock is low 30s hp and you get 40 off that. I have a 485 big bore and stroker and doing some crazy head work. I'm hoping for 60hp or above.

Swapping out carbs isn't legal in Singapore (and a lot of countries anyway for that matter).

Changing end cans is allowed, but the rest of the exhaust setup is illegal too. And it's not like just changing the end can will do anything much except change the sound.

 Those wheels are tiny.
Hah, it's a sumo, they're always tinier than dirt wheels :)

The fcr mx 39 comes on the drz400e stock not sure if that would make it legal. Changing the can would help if you look threw the end of the exhaust it's a small hole inside which restricts the flow. The 3x3 mod is cutting a 3inch by 3inch hole on the top of your air box which allows allot more air in. All of this will need rejecting of the carb.

The authority's stance is basically other than some cosmetic/often replaced parts like plastics, mirrors, seats, bars, grips, tyres, instrument cluster, etc, if it isn't a piece that is already on the stock machine, it's illegal, like anything on the engine, exhaust systems and lights. They do make some concessions for carbon copy parts for very old discontinued bikes though, but of course, with written approval.

Not much I can do for performance. And I don't really intend to anyway, it's more trouble than it's worth in this part of the world. Modified bikes have zero resale value.

Most people go away from the stock sm carb because it's a vacuum carb. They tend to have allot of studders and shit. That motor is a great motor tho. Lots of guys get 20000 to 30000 miles out of them. I've even herd of 50000 miles. I would have to move if I lived there I can't do anything stock. I like power to much.

That's a cool bike. Are the Ohlins forks standard? They look like an upgrade, and a nice one at that.

They're not stock. Somewhere along the line, one of the previous owners replaced the forks to the pair of Ohlins.

So when I bought it, it was already there. Lol might as well have been stock to me.

I do on the KTM :D
My seat is really bad I'm looking for a inexpensive seat that isn't so bad till I'm not building my engine and my car. Then I'll buy the badass one. I got the gel seat thinking it would be better then stock but I guess it's the worst seat made for the drz.

Yea, the seat is real hard and thing, sort of cuts into the gap between my ass and balls and hurts.
I know the feeling. I've spent many house with that hurt. I've been looking at a Renazco seat. They are supposed to be the most comfortable ones.
