But the flies here are made of pure evil.

And every few weeks, the desert decides to throw one of these at us.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I'm on my way back to the states ATM, but this tour in Afghanistan was actually pretty boring. EOD is a damn good job though, and I consider it a privilege to work with people I truly consider(badass) heroes.
Right now though, I'm just impatient to get back to good food, beer, my good camera, and most of all my BIKES!

Ok, can you share some tips on how do you take these amazing shots?
haha yeah, i could use some tips XD, mostly just dicking around with it and learning bits as i need to figure things out, needs more pracktisfisdf sjkrhs

Well to be honest the bottom two are not Slr shots but actually my 8MP camera phone(HTC Sensation) but the Focus was exactly where I wanted them and perfect exposure so I count them as slr-ish photos. Bloodhay you got it as I see your playing with your shutter speed. That shot is perfect the only thing is clean your Sensor!!!! lol there is hella dirt on it. I spend alot of time playing with the eye level of the shot. Also giving the photo angles(leveling of horizon), the eye likes diagonal lines. Alot of work is done in post wither it be Film or Digital. Play around with your aperture(depth of field/Focus ring) and follow rule of thirds thats about it. And try some filters or just play around with exposure, saturation, and tone. Slide the bar all around and the tone of the photo will change. For instance, the second photo I posted's original did not have as dramatic cloud shadows as it does. This really emphasizes the depth and lines of the mountains using shading My work is sorry compared to my friends. Sadly this is the only one I can post as is the only one with no face in it but here it is. He has ones that you look at and wonder if its a computer animation meshed with a real photo but they all have faces in them!!!! This one is the least amazing dare I say but it shows rule of thirds.
*Notice he is following rule of thirds*(Bloodhay you obviously know this)
A lot of Post went into this photo aswell.

Yup i sure do know about the rule of thirds. Can be sort of hard to follow when cars are drifting going about 70+ around a banked corner XD
About that dirt, that is actually rubber that collected on my UV filter that i put on to protect my lens. I forgot to clean it off when i went back out. Newbie mistake. I only shoot raw, so i can do better post processing, something i am trying to learn as i go. Mostly i just play with the sliders.
