everymorning befor i set off of work i check tyres. tyre pressuse, lights, wheel bearings, stearing bearings and oil. then i start the bike test the brakes. then i start my drive to work with the wife on the back and she knows at some point on the 1st main road i will do an emergency stop when its safe to do so. (UNLESS) its less than 2 degrees out.
Big Respect man...you shame me...I guess having some one else on the bike makes you more safety conscious aswell, more than normal I mean.

Just had a near miss with a deer several days ago when I was filming my latest vid. It showed my need to practice them. The good news is, I avoided the deer. Bad news is I locked the back brake. That is a great recipe for a high side and that is "no bueno."

Glad you made it out in one piece! Locking the back isn't too bad, I do it more than I should (on purpose and once by accident). I actually practice locking the rear when I practice my emergency braking, so I can get a feel for when it happens and practice dealing with it. Locking the front though, that gives me the heebs!

I try not to use my breaks at all... engine breaking and lots of planning ahead is the way to go! :)
and no I don't practice emergency breaking, I only test the breaks when its raining at the bike was out side

This! During normal riding I use engine braking (thumper FTW) and rear brake only. Rarely ever use the front brake if I'm just putting around town and not under the influence of the red mist.
