Hey All,

I am sure this has been asked before.

I have been using Capcut and paid for Pro but the last couple days I have had issues logging in.

Anyways I am thinking longer term if I am going to put more time into this project then I should get something a bit more professional, I am thinking Final cut or Devinci Resolve.

I know the learning curve will be large but which would be less large?

What do you guys use and why?

I use a MAC

I use Davinci Resolve exclusively. I use it for video editing, picture editing, video thumbnails, and channel banners.

If you want to go down the Resolve route, I highly recommend it. You can get away with using the free version, no problem. The Studio [$300, free lifetime updates] version uses the GPU more and gives you access to some more fancy effects and such.

The learning curve on it can be steep, but if you want to get started in Resolve [shameless plug incoming!], click on the link in my sig for my YT channel, and then at the top there's a link to my 2nd channel - Creator Reality. I do Resolve tutorials over there. There's at least a half dozen videos tailored basically to motovloggers.

I use Kdenlive. It's free, community built, multi platform, has tremendous capabilities, if you're willing to work on it, but text effects and color grading are it's weak sides.
I chose this, because I started on a way weaker computer that I have now, and Kdenlive uses CPU, not GPU, for rendering, so I was able to use it, compared to many alternatives, which said that they would not work on my computer. That problem is more common with laptops.
Anyway, I stuck with it, and I am happy with the development. I believe I have donated the developers a coin too, and probably will donate again at some point.

I use Cyberlink PowerDirector 18. I needed something that I did not need my machine for trips to be connected to the internet for editing (ie a subscription).

I sometimes will use Adobe Premiere 15 depending on what I am doing.

Then for my Smartphone it is Cyberlink PowerDirector. That is great to have when waiting around someplace like for an appointment.
