Editing Software

I'm using A Mac, my iMovie is an older version and Ive thought of buying the new iMovie from iLife11 but have read bad reviews. Does anyone use Blender? @F4celess do you use it? Or know of any other free programs that can render out at 1080 hd?

I don't use Blender, as I got the whole Adobe CC package. If I didn't have this package, I'd use blender.

There is always a struggle to find a good free video editor, mainly because making a good one is hard. I trust Blender because I used it for 3d modelling before and it's on par with Maya and Cinema 4D. So I'm familiar with it through that.
I have a friend who use Blender for his occational video editing needs. renders at 1080p with ease.
Another nice thing about blender is that its by far the most popular starter software for modelling, so tutorials and help is easily available.
Here's the manual on the video sequencer. Might be a bit intimidating at first I guess.

I'm a newb but I Would definitely recommend Adobe Premiere Pro CC for editing software. I'm still learning it but it really has everything you would need. The benefit is if you just want to try to see if it's a good fit- there's a 30 day free trial. After that you can do a monthly subscription but you can get it a third of the price if you are a college student or have a friend who is---all you need is a college associated email address. Either way hope this helps!

I use the premier pro master collection it is so easy to use its unreal, but I got my mate to put it on my pc as it costs !:l
But yes prem pro all the way and if anyone is looking to get it I'm going to start doing a few "how to prem pro" vlogs to help people edit :)

Buy Sony Movie Studio, I got mine 3-4 yeas ago for £15 (about USD30) and its brilliant, easy to use and has all features you'd need to edit a vlog

I used to have Sony Vegas Pro 9, when I was on Windows prior, and I liked it. I have been using FinalCut Pro the last 5 years on my MBP. I am back on Windows again, so back trying out software. Downloaded the trial of a bunch of the software listed in this thread last night and gave them all a run through - 4 hours of testing. I downloaded Movie Studio Platinum (4K and Action Cam) last after saying "no" to the others. I also briefly looked at Vegas again, but damn, $600 is worth more to me on the bike than on a computer. Long story short, it was an easier transition to Movie Studio than the others, so this morning I went with Sony Movie Studio Suite. Keeping in mind I also do editing for other projects as well, in fact the motorcycle videos are a small part of what I end up working on. Now, all I have to do is reconfigure my brain to work with the new tool. It is also not something I get paid enough for to write off, so $140 is a decent price for the tools, and they are powerful enough for what I am doing.

Have a look at Hitfilm Express 4. It's 100% free and has many effects as good if not better than After effects. I've used version 3, which was functional although a little clunky for editing. But they say that version 4 is vastly improved and blurs the lines between editor and compositor. Think Premiere blended with after effects.

The core is free, and then you buy add ons if you want extra stuff. 2 point motion tracking is included in the core package too. Which is nice.

My iMac is too old to run GoPro Studio. Pfffff! I was simply using iMovie in the past but I know you are on PC. My advice is that if you don't have training/schooling with vid editing beware that software is expensive and has a steep learning curve.
My latest vlog was editied with Adobe Premiere VS my old vlogs which were done with iMovie. You can really see the difference of what can be done.

For starters i'd recommend premiere elements. But premiere pro has all the good stuff I need. Vegas was just a pain in the ass. IMHO!

Right now im using GoPro Studio 2.0 to edit my vlogs.
GoPro Studio does not have enough features to make a better edited vlog.
I do not have money to buy a program right now.
What would you guys suggest I use to edit my videos that is free?
I currently use Sony Vegas Pro 13 (free thanks to YouTube). But I also like Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015.

Used Windows Movie Maker pre motovlogging then used Camtasia Trial and removed the registry on the trial every month to renew it. Finally just edited the reg file for the program so I can use it fully. Will plan on switching to Adobe sometime in the future when I have time to learn it. Adobe doesn't play when it comes to features.

I've only got a mac, so my input on this isn't very useful, however I've been using the latest iMovie and I'll be switching to Final Cut Pro soon.

I have heard nothing but amazingness about Final Cut. If I had a mac, I would pick it up just from all the reviews. I know a few people that bought a mac just for Final Cut.
