Dual vlog recording? Mainly voice?

I haven't done one yet but I'd love to! Ive actually found that people can hear me with iPhone headphones, if you shove the little headphone mic but up the side of your helmet by your cheek, you can get reasonable sound on a phone conversation, enough for the other person to hear you.. Then you would have headphones in and turn the volume up to hear the other person. Actually a good idea, i might start a thread seeing if any newbies are interested!

That's an idea, could use a dual input cable to do that! I use Sena and my Drift does pick up the speakers but very faint

The easiest way to do this, if you already have the intercom sorted out, is to get two cameras. Both will be recording audio and video from each helmet, then you mix them during editing. You get the best quality audio from both parties and extra video.
Or you can use an external audio recorder on the helmet that doesn't have a camera, record the audio and mix with the video later. There is no need to go expensive with a Zoom or Tascam recorder, most android phones will record with outstanding quality using a recording program like "Miidio recorder" and the built-in microphone or using an external my plugging in the headset you use for voice calls.

The worst choice is to record only on one side the audio coming from the intercom because the quality is too low for any use.
You can record 16 bit, 44.100 kHz PCM/ADPCM/MPEG audio on a phone, or at least 4 bit, 22.050 kHz from the cheapest recorder, compared with the poor 4 bit 8.000 kHz AMR compressed audio that comes out of a Bluetooth intercom.

No, too much cables for me. Until my jacket comes out in the market (a hoodie with a phone compartment around the neck, being fabricated at the moment), I am not going with a wired phone setup. I tried that once and never liked it, although I would want to listen to audiobooks while riding.

Right now I wear my Sony bluetooth headset while riding (for phone calls and audiobooks), but I cannot figure out how to record audio through it. I turned Google upside-down, no luck

My next vlog might use 2 cameras, just for the heck of it

I'm currently in the editing phase.. I'm supposed to overlap the videos but I'm not sure how to. When I do it, vegas pro only shows one part of the video, but plays both audios. The audio is lining up so that's good, I just need to figure out how to go to different video clips. Any suggestions? I got the program about an hour ago so I should probably play with it more, should be able to figure it out eventually..

This is really ringing true for me, been watching some Sena GP10 reviews and the audio quality is very close to pure SH*T!

Wondering if I hit some bad demos or what :/

You should probably play with it more :D

Not sure if it helps, I use only Cyberlink and AfterEffects, but in the timeline the two clips you get to disable the audio on one track. It must be same or at least similar with Sony Vegas

Record both setups separately and mix in editing.

Each rider has a GoPro and mic, as well as a separate audio comms system that isn't recorded.

The audio from Senna's etc sound pretty crap for video work. Clear but really low quality and no decent engine or ambient sound.

Some people do crazy dual mic setups with the second mic near the senna speakers but they always sound bad.

For me, the back-pack for the sena and go-pro produces horrible, gated sound.
for $25 my solution is 2 mics, into a splitter, into one camera.
(actually Wifey and I BOTH have this set up, se we are both recording both voices, that way you can choose to use the footage from whichever rider you want at any given time).
I describe the set-up here - probably the most valuable info is the positioning of the second mic:

Im looking at some sena smh5's. I will probs buy a second set of speaker for them and hack the hell out of them and take a feed from there and put it stright into my drift. so i will have two mics onf for sena one for drift and also a small lead that adds the sena out put to the drift mic input.

may take a little time to cut and solder but i think the end product will work

Would be very interested to hear how this works out for you!
