So I have never been a fan of the kawasaki range. Would have been my last pick out of the 600 supersport range. RidingWithTom's videos have now made me love this bike. I can't get it out of my head! I have been looking at buying a new bike for quite a few months now but I just love my cbr250r. so easy to get up gutters and park in awkward positions which really helps when having Uni close to the city. Not to mention the amazing fuel economy. I been contemplating between a 600 super sports or the KTM 690 smc-r. They are completely different bikes so it's giving me the Dilemma!

Do I buy a sports bike and put up with the cruddy turning circle and sketchy parking but have a beast of a machine? or buy the KTM and have a mixed bag of both worlds. I sold my '05 cbr600rr 12 months ago for this very reason. Needed something more practical. But with school coming to an end and a permanent role with secure parking in the city, It's making me think otherwise. I'm just really feeling the Kwakka! and with it being winter and all. Can pick one up a whole lot cheaper with the bike market in Melbourne pretty much dead.

What do you guys think?

Drool...

If you had an '05 600, the 636 will not be much of a change... sure it is shiny and new, but its a very similar bike to ride. The KTM is definitely a very different bike. Obviously kerbs will no longer be a problem, but the seating position and riding style is very different. However... I dont think there is any 690smcr's left in australia, let alone Victoria. Next shipment is February 2014.

I would normally say get the 636, but since you sold your last for usability reasons, it would be unwise to recommend another.

City KTM has one left. had a look the other day. love the way it feels (to sit on, never ridden it). Still hard for me to decide what type of bike I want. with the secured parking now available I don't have to worry so much about trying to buzz around finding parking. busting my brain trying to decide
