Drift Stealth 2 - Higlight Function?

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this functionality. From what I gather, the camera is on, but not recording. If you identify something you may have wanted to record, you hit a certain button and it records the previous minute, along with the next minute. I don't know about you guys, but that sounds pretty cool from a guy who has missed some hilarious little goings on as I am riding around. I do tend to ride through Barstow, CA, so I may see more crazy things than your average bear. I know at the top end it does 1080 @ 30 fps. But between the highlight function and the rotating lens, I am thinking about picking one up. Worst case, I can throw it on the tail end of the bike for another perspective. Thoughts?

Good 2nd camera. Has no mic input unless you mod it, and the sound from the inbuilt mic is useless.
I've never bothered with the video tag feature as sd cards are cheap so I just leave it to record.

While I just leave my cameras recording when I'm riding locally, if I'm going to be out all day or for multiple days, then the Tag feature is the way to go. You can fit several days footage on a single card, afterwards it's much easier to find the interesting recordings without having to wade through hours of footage and if you're running multiple Drift cameras then you can sync them to a single remote so they all switch on and off at the same time.
On a side note, in the Tag mode the camera is recording constantly but over-writing the recording after the time you set; 30 secs, 5 mins, etc. If you set it to, say, 1 minute, then when you hit the remote it will save that previous minute, plus then current minute and another minute after that.

I have a Drift Ghost-S. Daily riding it's better to use the full on record mode.

And as Triumfant has said, the tag is great for touring, since you're not gonna be particularly looking to capture every second, only the best parts. Like he said it actually continues to record and just overwrites the footage, so you're not minimizing your battery use. You'll need to plug a powerbank to it while you're riding. But then again it's probably easier than saving the recording, powering it off and popping in a new battery every 3 hours.

Also if you have yet to buy it and don't mind waiting longer. The Ghost 4k is coming soon that might be worth considering for it's GoPro level quality.
